    Captain's Chair problems

The screws are stripped where the captain’s chair is bolted to the floor. Can I simply rotate the base and drill new holes?

    What should I do?

Buy a bigger base cause bigger is better.

That is what I did. Just turn the base where the new screw holes are inbetween the old.

Do you know why it did it in the first place? I just looked at it one day and three of them were just sticking up about an inch. I screwed them in and then i noticed it again next time out. I checked it and sure enough they were stripped.

Did you put anything on the underside of the chair? I have been looking into putting one of these seats in but haven't figured out how to get a base up under the floor yet.

Could you post a picture of you seat please. I would like to see it mounted.
          Thanks

Sorry I don't have a pic of it. But it is a round base with around 6 screws in it. The chair is a standard one with no bolster.

Did you just screw it to the floor w/out bolting it from the underside and now it is coming loose?
I was thinking about this but wasn't sure if it would hold, if this is the case I will not do it now.

That is how Tige did it from the factory. If I could bolt it I would but not sure if you can get to it from the underside. When i take it out of storage I will try the rotate method. hope that works. I would love to buy a taller post to make it higher or maybe even an adjustable one. Anyone ever done that?

I beleive these are the anchor used to "through" bolt the seats in. I do not beleive a screw into the deck will hold over time.

Those look like they will do the job.If they do loosen you can tighten them.

That should work. Thanks. That is the same base that I have.
