    Puting words on the boat. Can't decide where...

    We're putting "Exodus" on the boat somewhere & can't decide where to put it or what size to do. I just ordered 3" 3D letters for the registration on the front and could probably get something added to my order if I do it quick. What have you all done?

    I am planning on doing mine on the back above the Tige. I am doing 3"ish and it will look like the Phat Bottom on the Red and White Tige on the home page rotation. Some have handles and some don't, mine does not.

                Well did some searching on the google box. Can't find anything about size for bad luck, definitely bad luck to rename a boat and some say not to use a womans name.

                  It's generally accepted as proven that to use any derivative of the name "Titan" on a boat is a Really Bad Idea.

                        The 'under a certain length' thing comes from registering a boat with the US Coast Guard instead of with your state. Only boats 28' and over can be registered with the Coast guard, and they must have their name and home port listed on the stern of the boat. Above a certain length and they must also have the name on the sides of the vessel.

                          From boatsafe.com::

                          According to legend, each and every vessel is recorded by name in the Ledger of the Deep and is known personally to Poseidon, or Neptune, the god of the sea. It is logical therefore, if we wish to change the name of our boat, the first thing we must do is to purge its name from the Ledger of the Deep and from Poseidon’s memory.
                          This is an involved process beginning with the removal or obliteration of every trace of the boat’s current identity. This is essential and must be done thoroughly.

                          I once went through the ceremony after the owner had assured me that every reference to his boat’s old name had been purged from her. A couple of weeks later, he discovered he had missed a faded name on her floating key chain. I advised him to start over, perhaps with a little extra libation for the ruler of the sea. Unfortunately, he declined.

                          Since then, his boat has been struck by lightning, had its engine ruined by the ingress of the sea, been damaged by collision and finally sunk! It pays to be thorough.
