Anybody know anything about this 24v?

    http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218...=1&search=tige

Hey all, my first post over here. I'm a regular on malibucrew.com (2006 vride, don't hold it against me). Anyhow, I've got a co-worker with a large family who is looking for a good surf boat but doesn't want to spend more than about $35K. He's also a TALL guy.

Knowing all of those factors I've encouraged him to check out Tige. We've found the boat linked above, which looks promising. But he's also been eying a 2004 wakesetter LSV with illusion tower for roughly the same price (costs more, but will end up being less because it's a private party sale vs. dealer sale so no sales tax). The wakesetter is in great condition, but doesn't have much of a stereo.

Given that my friend is tall, I think he's gonna hate the illusion tower. I'm 5'9" and BARELY fit underneath the tower. I'm thinking he's going to be clotheslining himself on it constantly. But he's new to boating and is kinda set on the "cool" look of the tower.

Anyhow, I'm hoping some of you might be able to fill in the lines on the 24v I linked to above....? Priced right?

Sorry to say he will need to pay sales tax when he goes to register the boat whether it was private party or a dealer.

It looks like a nice clean boat, and the fresh air exhaust is a very nice feature. I say test drive and see how it runs.

Nah, not in Nevada he won't. There's no sales tax on private party sales (for now anyhow.... we'll see what the legislature brings us this session).

Welcome to the site. Is one of the requirements that it be a 24 footer? I saw the large family part, but how many? I have a 22 footer that holds my family of 6 and a buddy's family of 5 with plenty or room. Granted the kids range from 6 - 15. From comments I have read on here it seems that a 22 footer would also be easier to get a better surf wake, less boat to push down. Based on looking on KSL are you located in Utah?

That 24V used to belong to talltigeguy, and is currently owned by Bad05. So, as far as working well for a tall individual, well, the original owner was 6'-9". You could send him a PM (private message) on here and ask him about it. I think that both owners have cared for it well. And, if it comes with the stereo, you would be hard pressed to find many boats with a setup like that.

The Marine Power engine that is in the boat will be good. I haven't had any issues with either of mine (24Ve or RZ2).

The FAE is good and probably needed since the MP engine is loud.

We're in Reno, but I grew up in LV and went to grad school at the U (buddy went to the Y but we won't hold THAT against him), so we've sorta got the me-KSL-boat location trifecta going on....

                talltigeguy, where you at?

Interesting to find out - Nevada Proof of sales tax is not required on a casual sale.

It is weird how different states work. I had to pay on the trailer but not the boat, based on our state. Also if he is getting a loan, some of them automatically build that in.

REALLY! That is awesome! I post corrected, that is a great deal. I've moved around alot (never lived in NV though) and bought and sold vehicles private party in several states and the buyer always had to pay sales tax when registering. Many times the buyer didn't know this and thought since it was private party I could just change the name on the reg or let them keep my plates and name on the reg.

yeah and it only costs $50 a year to register the boat with the dept of wildlife. The trailer on the other hand is reg'd with DMV and costs about $175. Talk about perverse logic.....

Sorry for the poor quality of that night shot. Damn point-and-shoot camera...

                              Hey, That's my boat!!!!!!!

I might as well break the news right now....I sold my Mastercrap and the thought even crossed my mind to buy it back. Can't say much more good about it than that.

As far as tall. I think it is close to one of the tallest towers ever made. My friends who are short sometimes struggled to get the rope over the top of the tower. I would guess 7.5 feet from floor to tower...at least.

At 6'9", I never hit my head. My feet do not touch the sub when I stretch my legs while sitting in the driver's seat. Your buddy could not go wrong.

I sold it to Bad05 in September 2008 with about 300 hours on it. I had bought it new in August of 04. He definitely upgraded the stereo.
                              Be excellent to one another.
