Swivel Rack Install Alpha Z

Is it possible to install the swivel racks "backwards" on the alpha z tower? For example, could I have put the port size rack on the starboard side and vice versa? OR Is it possible to install them upside down, or would the contour of the tower not allow this?

When they drill into the aluminum and tap the threads for the racks, they should be the same but mine are not. There is a slight diffence in the angle that the bolt goes through the rack and into the tower on my left and right rack. I'm going to put stainless steel inserts into the tower to hold the racks in better and make it easier to remove and re-install the racks in the future.
