good suggestion keeping the tower off the upholstery. I rigged some tiedown straps to support the folded tower from the roof of my storage area. Flackpack, do you have racks on your tower? I want to put mine where they don't hit the interior of the boat when the tower is folded and where boards don't block my view when driving. I think I have to put them on the front (leading) tower support but I think it'll be tough to get at my boards with the bimini up. Any suggestions? Maybe I want too much...

    thanks.

I have a Phat Tower Tower. The Racks are part of the tower, and they sit above the Driver's view. The racks do get in the way of the bimini, but it is the best positioning.

Here is a photo of the Phat Tower on my Christmas gift. A new 22V after owning one of Charlie Pigeon's first '02 2002 fslm open bow. We are old time tige' owners.

That's a great looking boat/tower. I previously had a boat with a Samson tower with integrated board racks; they worked great. I'll have to find a compromise with what I've got. I'll probably mount them on the forward supports and deal with it.

I wish I had ordered mine from the factory. I got mine at a sale by the dealer. It was his boatshow prices. I didn't really get to pick much out on it, just took it with what it had. I'd love to order another one, but right now that's not really in my budget. I'm just happy enough to get to take a brake from my studies on the weekend and go to the lake Now if we could just get some warm air can't wait to see the pics

dom, thanks. I saw some shots of your ride in the galleries; awesome. Nice grab by the way. Flackpack, here's an agregious shot of my old centurion with the samson tower. I was a little disappointed how fast the nylon pads on the tower began to sunfade. Looks like the phat tower won't have that problem.

All you new owners I was wondering if you would not mind sharing how much you paid for your new boats. I have spoke with several dealers and received different prices from all of them on new 22v riders editions.

hey hoots... 2 questions: I've got a similar truck ('03 2500HD Crew Cab 4x4, running a 6.0L), that I'm going to be pulling my 22v with. I was wondering how much of a drop in your hitch you're running? I've got the factory receiver hitch, and I've had the front end leveled with the back (torsen bars).

2nd question... In those pics, did you launch at Sam Hill? I couldnt remember the place until the commercial stuck back in my head. Man... I've had many a drunken nights there!

Ruune, I've got a 2" drop and the trailer sits level. I'm sure your 2500HD rides higher than my 1500HD so you may want to go with at least 3". I bet your dealer would let you back up to some trailers to see what you need.

I have no idea what the name of that ramp is. It's on Lake Travis about 5 miles NW of Mansfield Dam off of FM 620. Those pics are from the "acceptance flight" with the Ski Dock rep at one of the private ramps they use for demos, etc. Sorry I couldn't remember the name but I was alternating between blissful thoughts of the new boat, the harsh realities of hypothermia, and the pressure of putting on a good show for my wife who approved the purchase in the first place...what a lady.

When is your new boat due in?

Shane, wow it's risky posting something like that and finding out what a sucker I was because I didn't fight the deal to the ground. I paid a little under MSRP (can be found on the website) but probably did better on my trade than I could have. Keep in mind I'm only on my second boat and have only bought one new, but I would be surprised if there is a great deal of true variance (option vs option with no trade considered)between dealers as I don't know of any Tige dealerships competing with other Tige dealerships. Unlike care dealers that compete with local same-model dealers, most boat outfits are trying to sell the best value compared to other brands in the area. As always though, if you're finding some discounts jump on 'em. Just make sure you wind up with reliable service and the boat you want.

                        "car dealers" not "care dealers"

                        sorry.

Ruune, what I've got from an unscientific but quick trip to the driveway:

16.5" from the ground to the "lower surface inside" the receiver
18" from the ground to the TOP of the trailer ball

                          maybe that helps

haha yeah that helps a lot!

Anyways, I just heard from Damon about 5 mins ago... target completion date is 3/18/04! I got my order in just before the rush- I can hardly sit still! That red/black/red paint is going to look pimped out on the black trailer hooked up to my black truck.

oh yeah... one more question: I'm getting the same trailer you are, but with different rims. I know that it has disc surge brakes, but is there a pin to disengage the brakes when you're backing up a slope? Do you have any problems with this?

I have a 5 inch drop on mine and I drive a 2000 PSD. I just raised it 3 inches though, so now I need to get a new one. One word of advice(learned it the hard way) play around with your drops. I thought I had the correct drop with my boat and when I was hauling it with a 95 yukon sport. Boy was I wrong. It always dragged on everything. Now that I have the 2000 psd, and a different drop, it never drags. So moral of the story? If your dragging, maybe you need more of a drop

Ruune, no clue. I'd go look but the boat is in storage a few miles from here. I'll check it out next time I'm there. I haven't had any problems backing up the driveway or into the storage area.

I'll check it out next time I'm there and get back with you.
