    Possible Z1 owner

I'm looking at an 08 Z1 with 400 hours on it. It's still under warranty and the asking price is $34,000. What do you think of this deal? I'm new to the wake/surfboat world. Thanks

    I got a new 2009 Z1 Oct. 09, we love it.

We need a few more details on your boat, does it have a tower? Stereo? Ballast? Engine type? With or without trailer? I am not an expert by far, but these are some quick questions I am thinking of. This may all be minor but may make a differene in price or for ex. if it does not have ballast and you want to install it, that may cost you a few bucks.

I started my research right here before I bought my boat. Everyone here will help you out.

It has a tower, ballast, stereo system, but no tower speakers, 5.7L Marine Power engine...better yet, here's the link http://nashville.craigslist.org/boa/2228840843.html

I plan on using the boat for cruising with the family, pulling the girls on the tubes, and doing some wakeboarding and hopefully some wakesurfing. I have owned a boat before. I was a Bayliner ski boat. We go out on the water with a bunch of people, but usually have the pontoon out there, so that's where evryone usually hangs out.

I would say let a few others chime in as well, but that seems like a great deal to me. Maybe see if you can take it to a local dealer and have them go over it, or ask them what dealer did the maintenance and call that dealer and check with them. USUALLY, boats like Tige's are very well maintained and taken care of.

            Nick,

The marina I used to work at still has a leftover 2008 Z1. Same colors as that one. It has less than I believe 50 hours on it and has not been registered. It should still have a full new factory warrenty starting from purchase date. It has all the options of the one you are looking at and I believe it can be had for around the same price.

PM me if you want some more info on that boat.

Here is the link. Let them know Shaun Brinkle told you about it.

I think you found a fair deal but I would take a look at High Rocks boat and keep searching also and use the prices you have for bargining power, Highrock's boat will have a longer warranty, as 400 hrs on even a demo will be a prorated warranty that is coming due soon. You also will need to consider delivery costs.

Good Luck in your search, If it will fit your family, you will not go wrong with a Z1

Its a good deal, Yes it has alot of hours on it for an 08 (not excessive but higher than avg.)That being said all the bugs should be worked out and thats a good thing. Service records would be nice to make sure everything was done like it should have been.
From what you said about how you would be using the boat I think it would fit your needs just fine.
As for the second boat. for the same money it does make it hard. The boat has been sitting for a long time and how well was it cared for while sitting? It looks pretty good. It could have some issues coming out of hibernation after sitting for that long. That being said if the you have a good dealer you feel confident in and a little patience the boat is under warranty and any little bugs could be fixed. Not saying there is going to be major problems or problems at all for that matter. But as with any new boat it will always have a few little issues pop up that need some attention as the one with the 400 hrs would have been through all this already. I am not sure wich way I would go but either way I think you would be ok. Good Luck and let us know if you have any more ?? and wich boat you go with.

there are a couple of more 08 Z1's on Boatrader.com one does not have a tower and they are probably getting ready to put one on it to move it and the other is in TX. with 174 stated hrs. Good Luck and keep us in the loop

Unless its changed, so someone correct me if my info is outdated, but if a dealer demo boat exceeded 40 hrs, it was considered used in Tige's eye. So, this would me the boat will only have the transferable 10 yr hull warranty. Not saying it would be a deal breaker for me, just one more thing to take into account.

Mike is right on the warrenty deal through Tige. If it has over 40 hours it works that way. I had a "demo" boat though and it had a little over 100 hours when it went to its first "owner" and all warrenty was honored.

I would hope that Tige would do the same with this boat to help the dealer out who still has it. That price is about 10K under dealer cost and he has paid interest on the floor plan for over 2 years on that boat.

CHP is right and the seller of the boat Highrock talks about does NOT say the boat has warranty so I would make sure you check on that.
