RZ4 Weight?

Hey Everyone...

Does anyone know the weight of an RZ4? We are looking to upgrade our boat (07 22Ve) and want to go as big as possible as long as it doesn't exceed our lift capacity. We have a 6000 lbs capacity shorestation hydraulic lift.

We put a X45 on the lift once and it struggled with that much boat, I do not want to push the lift too much.

Also can anyone speak to the differences in the wakes between the RZ2 and RZ4? The boat serves as the towboat for a small marina in MI. We use it to give watersport lessons ie, skiing, surfing, wakeboarding. Our 22ve was a phenomenal boat, but we are looking to upgrade to automated ballast and would like to go up in size as well.

Any thoughts and comments would be appreciated.

i don't have the brochure handy but it's on the tige site.i'm sure it's less than 5000 lbs even with liquids.the wake is very similar to the 22ve.it's just 2 feet longer so i takes more weight to produce the same wake.i've read on here the slalom wake on the rz4 is better than the rz2.also rz2 has better surf wake.but they are very close.

It's probably pushing about 5k lbs once you have it all loaded up. I've seen other posts where people have lifts that are rated about what yours is and complained that it was slow to lift 22Ve's/RZ2's.

Bill/Corey at WWS said that they preferred the wakesurfing wake of the RZ2 over the RZ4. As for wakeboarding wake, the RZ4 is pretty comparable IMO. I rode behind Nick Weinacker's RZ4 (Tige Pro) for a wakeboarding camp and the wake felt and looked just like my RZ2's which is the same as your 22Ve.

44.85 is dry weight and it holds 48 gallons of gas so figure about 4900 to 5000 lbs with fluids and gear.

I think the lift should handle 5000 lbs without a problem.

I am not sure of the year of the X-45 we had on it, but the current model is close to 5000lbs dry and holds 90 gallons. I think with fuel and gear the boat we had on it was right up there towards the 6000 lbs capacity.

Does anyone see this as irrational?

So I upgraded last year from a 20v to my RZ2 and need to currently buy a new lift and was looking at the 6k. Is that going to be enough or should I go bigger?

if you look at some of ragboys posts he had a 24ve he did alot of surfing with. basically the same hull as rz4.

Personally I would just get a custom L shaped sac for it. I think the one chpthrill sells will fit an RZ4 but you might be able to go even bigger. It's 1000+ lbs and creates a super nice wave!

Search on here for postings by Ragboy, he has a lift for his boat and he used it on his 24Ve as well - might tell about the capacity and such.

I believe the Enzo sac will fit fine.

Even though the 22ft and 24ft Tiges have the same size V-drive storage, the added 2 ft of the 24 makes the Fly High Enzo a more cost effective sac for the 24ve/RZ4.

ctmccahill04 - Bill can usually get WWS Tige owners a much lower price on fly high sacs than you can find on the internet and no shipping so check with him on the Enzo sac before ordering online.

I picked up an Enzo Sac last year from chpthril and it works great. Very nice wake on the RZ4.

Whatever the dry weight is listed, add 200-300 lbs for the tower, batteries, stereo, and then add 500 lbs for gas and gear. That will give you a safe WAG on the actual weight. I put my boat on the scale this year, I can go through the numbers if you like.
