I just got back from Powell and we got a treat you have to try. It takes some prep before your trip but will be worth it. The day before I left I made six quarts of home made rasberry ice cream (fresh rasberries of course). I froze it solid in my freezer, then just before I left I bought 20 lbs of dry ice and packed it in its on small cooler. We hid it in the boat and did not let anyone know we had it. After two days of lows in the 90's and highs in the mid teens we were down Moki Canyon for lunch and my daught made the comment that ice cream would sure be good. Just when everone was dreaming of how good it would be we pulled it out. The dry ice was almost gone but the ice cream was still frozen and there are 23 people that won't forget that for a while. 20 lbs of dry ice in those temps held up for about 54 hrs. I think with the cost of the ice cream and dry ice it was around a $40 treat. I won't get voted off the house boat for a few years. This group goes every year, last year was our first and we are trying to stay in with the group so it was well worth it. They have been going ten years and they said that this was the best treat so far.

Never thought of using dry ice, the temps here in Nashville have been in the high 90's and the ice has only lasted about 5-6 hours. Even hiding the cooler in a storage compartment doesn't help. I might give the dry ice a try...If life is a waste of time, and time is a waste of life, then let's all get wasted together and have the time of our lives.

Lake level
The lake level is about where it was three years ago. We spent alot of time in Good Hope Bay this trip. The last couple of years there has been a lot of debris up river. We didn't notice to much debris this trip. There is still plenty of water and fun to be had. It would be nice to have it come up as much the next couple years as it has this year. Great water year.My dad always said "Stupid Hurts". He's yet to be proven wrong, but for some reason I keep trying.
