Instead of filling the hole why not make it a cup holder or a cup to hold your boot lube?

The pylon only needs about an inch hole for the threaded stud. The hole is not the dia of the pylon by any means. Cutting a 2-7/8" hole for a std 3" cup holder would leave no meat on what is a structural part of the cap.
