Can anyone tell me what is fresh water strainer and where is it installed

it's in the engine compartment and is attached to hoses that pull water from the lake or river you are in and strain sediment and grass/weeds before they enter your cooling system. hope this helps.

Highly recommend having one, they save you from overheating issues and are cheap and easy to install. They should be standard on boats in my opinion. Just be sure to check and empty it as needed.
