    First Boat/First Tige

Hey everyone, just boat my first boat and it happens to be a TIGE! Just wanted to get some feedback on the buy. Its a 2006 24V. I seen a lot of talk about going straight to the VE model but it did seem more expensive to do so. Been looking for a year now and was not able to come by a good enough color in a VE model and in my price range. This has all the options and it also has the vortec 380 in it. Is this good or just a waste of gas? Why is it the VE has a 4 more person capacity? Both about the same space on the inside though. I know the did tighten up the engine box. The walk through does not bother as much. The wife will like laying out and kids sitting around on it. I don't wakeboard a ton but plan on doing more. More of a party and family boat. 37K is what i got it for and the boat has 83 hours, 1 owner, perfect condition, no scratches or anything. With a prestige trailer also in mint condition. I was able to add delivery to it as well which saved me about 500 or more in gas. I'll post pics.

Welcome, fantastic looking boat especially for your first! Having a bigger engine in a big boat is never a bad thing. Tiges are very good all around boats and will be very nice to learn to wakeboard behind. With my small kids many times we go out on the boat just to cruise and/or go swimming.

              Very Nice!!
We have a 05 22v. We went through the same thought process on the v vs the ve. We went with the v due to the larger rear lockers for stuff and ballast. Also, the rear sundeck/pad was larger and seemed more comfortable to us the then ve (IOHO). I like the color combination you have and the placement of the speakers on the tower - away from the center and less likely to bang your head on. Our interior is identical except for size and we love the amount of storage space and the layout of the boat. As someone else commented, I think the 380 will be great. I suspect the difference in gas used between that engine and a slightly smaller one really wouldn't be that big a difference when looking the whole picture. When you say it has all the options I am assuming that it has Perfect pass or Cruise Set? That is great!

Congradulations on the wonderful boat and here's to all the exceptionally fun times you and your family will be having this coming summer!!

P.S. If no one has taken you out on the boat or you have never driven this kind of boat, may I suggest you have someone help you the first couple of times getting that boat of the trailer. It's a little tricky even for those that have had boats before. Once you get the hang of it, there is no issue. Others might commnet on this to help you out. I only say this cause you said it's your first. If you haven't a clue and you get to the boat ramp, it will be a real cluster.

My wife and I owned an 06 22V and there were two things that sucked.
It was impossible for my wife to put her wakeboard on while sitting onthe edge of the sunpad because of how far the transom sloped out. It does look cool but is not user friendly.
The Tige Speed Set would not set speed half the time and when it did it took too long dicking with it. Very frustrating and dangerous.
I thought I remember reading about the Vortec 380's having a vapor lock problem?
Your 24V looks great and hopefully everything goes well.

Congrats my friend..You will love this boat.. we have sister boats... You may find that the snake skin over the rear storage compartments cracking in the summer when they heat up and put pressure from laying out in the sun or kids walking on the rear compartments to get in the water. I ended up replacing the grey inserts.IMO tou should treat and watch it closely.. My kids scuff there knees from the vynal cracking.. its been a common problem for this model yr from what im hearing.

Welcome to the forum and being a TIGE owner.

Thanks everyone, I'm excited. Lots of great feedback. The back doesn't bother me as much since my Wife does not wakeboard. I definitly see why that would be a nice feature. Thanks Mikehayburn, I'll keep a close eye on that. It does have the perfect pass and from the sounds of it that will be an awesome feature. Mike, does the price seem about right? Not much I can do now but wasn't going to loose the boat since I fell in love with it. My parents have a crownline and have had some experience with boating. It'll be diffent being on my own. This boat also comes with the table in the rear which is pretty cool along with the rear audio remote. Any additional feedback from the original post would be great. Love hearing everyones own experiences with the boat or others.

The earlier comment about taking someone with you would be a good idea. Someone who has experience with an inboard towboat. In case you don't know, unlike a sterndrive boat, inboards cannot steer in reverse (well, very very little). It does take some practice and getting used to it.

Congrats and welcome! Great looking boat!
