    Got Tower Camera?

Does anyone have the tower camera option Tige is offering? Anyone seen it in action?

Just looking for a little feedback on performance, quality, usefulness, etc.

    Thanks.

    Thanks.

At first i thought it was stupid. Then we just sold an RZ4 with it and im in love.

No need for a mirror, its like a rearview mirror, you turn it on and hit video on the Tige Touch and even when not recording you can see whats going on behind you. Easy to record and the memory card comes out with ease and it come with software to cut edit and make videos. Its pretty sweet if you ask me.

Well MSRP is around 2,200 but it will sell for whatever deal the consumer and dealership will come to an agreement on so knowing 2,200 isn't of that much value to anyone IMO.

Or just buy your own camera for $100-200 and install it yourself. Seriously, I see kids with helmet cams at the ski resorts these days, and if you're mounting one to a tower you've got even more flexibility. Most have video output connectors so you can hook up a remote screen for the dashboard if you want, too. Not rocket science.

There's lots of options out there and the Tige Touch has a video input on it from the factory so you should be able to hook up your own.

Tons of tube tower mount options, but last time I looked its was slim pickings for the Illusion towers.

Well like i said 2200 is MSRP, and no one is putting a gun to your head, if you want it get it, if you dont dont. Some people like the factory mounted clean hard wired look.

Of course you could go by a camera and hold it. No one said you couldn't. If you want that factory installed look with a warranty and not have to wire it all yourself then you'll be paying for it to be built in the boat. If you dont care about the job and the aftermarket look with no warranty then you'll buy the others.

I mean we could all go buy the biggest Boom box at walmart and bunggie it to our towers but we dont now do we and we spend a bit more and get tower speakers.

I mean would could all go to home depot and buy like 20 LED mag lights and tape them to our tower for tower lights but we dont now do we.

We could all rock a tower like this but we dont. (LOL this is my Kinda boat right here 100% American Built buy Git-R-Done, INC.)

These arent everyday drives so why must we try to compare them price wise, the fact is your Tige, BU, CC, MC, Supra, Centurion, and even Moomba are all luxury Items. And the last time i checked a fuel injector for a ferrari is a hell of a lot more then an injector for a toyota corolla, but the owner of that ferrari knows that going into it so he should and does expect it. Thats all im saying.

Agreed, there's room here for every approach.

Anyone have an idea for outputting a Go Pro to a vid screen? I think Ragboy had a few ideas for suitable vid screens.

I would be content to use Rabgoy's GoPro suction cup at the transom and run a line to the screen near the driver. Perhaps even run the signal line through the rear locker ...

I like Duncan's approach and seek to do the same. Ragboy?

i was told the tower mount camera was 1500 option at a mid atlantic dealer. i thought that was high. i think this secret price deal is killing boat sales. when the consumers can't go online and see a published msrp or see one on the boat they are buying they tend not to trust the seller. i give all my customers a retail price list and snap on publishes the same prices online. the difference is i deliver the tools freight free if they order online they pay freight.so all you DEALERS out there ask yourself.if i was going to buy a motorhome and the company i wanted to buy it from didn't publish any prices online and the price was different everywhere i checked . would i trust the salesman or manager.lets look at logic.the camera and wiring cost tige less than a hundred dollars. how much mark up is too much? i'd say 2100 is about 1100 too much . this allows 400 profit for tige and 500 for the dealer.if you put 500 dollars in the bank and made 500 in 6-8 months you would be happy i would imagine.if not i would guess you are way more greedy than anyone could imagine.good luck with camera sales.
I do all my own stunt work. hey ya'll watch dis.

I ordered one on my new RZ4. I was primarily thinking of resale value added and perhaps convenience for the rear view aspect.

As said above, I wasn't about to hang on some aftermarket camera that I had to wire in when one was available from the factory. I also had them add wires for LED lights in the speakers through the tower. Better to do those things at the factory than later so I reckon.

I will give a review on the system as soon as I get it on the water. Boat is now done, just waiting at the factory to be picked up by my dealer. Can't wait for pics.

                              Tower video cam option

I just priced the option for the factory setup after market by the dealer. $2800 priced. I think we'll hand hold a Go Pro.
