I set up a photobucket account just to post pics on this site, and you can upload pics to photobucket from an app on the iPhone of you have one.

I have the basic factory ballast (900lbs) which is 250 under the side lockers on each side of the engine and a 400lb sac under the bow seats. I can surf pretty well on just one 250 lb sac filled but I'm going to upgrade that over the winter with some help from Chpthril. If you love surfing you will do it alot and you'll want to have an auto system. From what I've read on this site, the key is to test drill and test fit the through hull fittings in plywood to make sure you have the correct size hole bit. Don't be shy, this is a very active site with lots of knowledge on many topics, again, welcome!
I would be up for a PNW meet up sometime this summer. Lots of great places in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho to connect. If I knew how to post up a poll we could gather interest and get something on the calendar.

I think right now I would not be able to do the last weekend in July because that is the NWWSA surf contest up here in Seattle. I do a trip every year to the Columbia just below Lake Chelan. The water never gets out of the 60's but I have had good luck with smooth water. I have never had a good experience in Coeur d' Alene! We did rent a place on Hayden lake in Idaho that was cool. Either way I will still plan to catch up with you on one of my weekly trips to Eugene when the weather gets nice (I would even haul my boat down).
I have heard mixed reviews on Lake Coeur d'Alene, its a little big so it can probably get rough so its not great for wakeboarding, but I'm sure there are coves to find and share. I love the fact that there are resteraunts on the water you can boat up to. The water takes a while to warm up too, but the little town is nice and if you are into bird watching there is a record number of Bald Eagles fishing the lake right now, but I hear you can see quite a few all year round. There are many other lakes in this area, Hayden is nice from what I hear, and there are many others that are smaller and less crowded that warm up quicker as well. When we get serious of picking out a spot for the PNW meet-up, I'll do some serious research around here and give a list of all the pro's and con's of each location.

Lets keep this all in mind and start a thread when the time comes and post some ideas about this and get the new guy to come too! After all this is his thread and we are celebrating his new family member!

I know I am the new guy, but I am always into meeting new people and having a good time, especially when I can bring the family. I would be excited as hell to bring my new baby for a meet up.

Cool, new baby too? Me too! My son is 6 weeks old and my daughter is 2. Kids will definitely be welcome, IMHO they are the best reason to have a boat!

Sorry, I should have been more specific, by "new baby" I was talking about the boat. I have 3 kids and don't believe I will be having any more.

But, I do agree that the kids are the best reason to have the boat.

Merry Christmas! What a nice gift to give the family. You will really enjoy the Z1. It has satisfied all of our family (wakeboarding, wake surfing and tubing needs). Best of luck. (also a 2008 Z1 owner)
How about some pictures of your new purchase?
