If there is a foil around, forget everything else and use it! I would probably have to take a set on the wakeboard though if the water looked like that.

I HATE those footstraps! They are probably fine for someone with a size 8 but I have a 15 and it took like 10 minutes to get my feet in those stupid things. I like the velcro versions better.

I won't ride with those straps. Gotta get the cinch foot stays!

Great pics. Glad you were able to get up. Maybe that was my issue when I tried. The ski may have been set up for a more advanced rider. Infact I know it was but never thought of it being an issue to get up and going.

Yes, Samson does have a rack for this. We can certainly help you with that TALL.

IF you find something, let me know and I can tell you if it is a good deal / ski. I have been riding foils since 1995. When you start looking expect to pay about $1500 for a good quality rock in skyski. Expect to pay another 100-200 or so for safety equipment. Make sure you get a helmet.

The cinch straps arrived today! Unfortunately, schedules made it so that I could not get to the lake. So they will be sitting in the garage until I get another chance at it. Weather doesn't look like it will hold.

If you figure the average ski cost about $2,500. The rack is not so expensive. Skyski also makes a swivel rack.

                        Custom Samson Racks

I hydrofoil all the time and own a 2007 RZ2. I took the wakeboard forks off and sent the plates back to Samson and had them mill out the plates to accommodate the Samson hydrofoil racks. Here are some photos of the finished product. I couldn't be happier with the work that Samson did on these custom racks! I am thinking about having two more racks made so that i can put two more foils up on the top of the tower so i can carry a total of four foils.

Nice setup! I had Comptech make an adapter for the e-series tower for my swivel rack.

I had a rack for a while but it ALWAYS made me a little edgy. Definitely made carrying the thing a lot easier; however, on rough water it swayed a bit and I could never get comfortable knowing that all it took was a little aluminum fatigue over the years until it failed. If that thing hit anyone it would probably kill them. Anyways, now I have the "where to put it" issue but at least I can sleep at night.

BTW, went out on Friday. First guy we tried to get up ended up getting seasick and puking (never seen that happen before). The next guy we got taxiing pretty well after about 10-15 pulls. The foil definitely handles a lot differently in cold water that's for sure.

I have never had any issues with worrying about my foil in my Comptech rack. Did you have a rack that supported your t-bar? Or one of the old Airboom / Titan racks?
