    Mercury's new 1350 QC4V's

Here is a link my engineer friend from Mercury Marine sent me.

Here is a link to a video of the Dave's Custom Boats 31' tunnel boat commissioning last week in Lake Havasu, AZ. It two of our new 1350 QC4v's, and runs 170+ on GPS. Check out how this thing sounds and looks running through the foothills. Needless to say, the owner of DCB is quite happy, as this is his first install, and has orders for four more boats that are his 35' WideBody model.

The "pucker factor" for that ride would be sky high, but sign me up!

I have been 110mph on the water and almost passed out because I forgot to breathe I was holding on so hard. I was in a much smaller boat than the one in the video (wich is badazz BTW) but I still dont think I could do it. Been 170 on a motorcycle plenty of times but just dont think I could do it in a boat.

The Pucker Factor is not the ride, but the price! $200K for the motor/drive unit combo (which can only be purchased together at this point). That boat has 2, so there's $400K, then Dave's boats run start around $150K on a low end for the 35' cat. So your now up to $550K MINIMUM

          I'd rather go 10mph than 110mph... (or 170mph)
40mph feels plenty fast to me
Don't think the FAE would help lessen that whine...
Actually I'd rather be going 30 and pull a uturn in glassy conditions than go 170 in a straight line....

          still-pretty audacious.

WOW!!! love the sound. A bit to fast on water for me thought. I am sure they could get to the lake Mead TO reunion meeting point on time even if they left the marina 10 min before start time.

I don't think a helmet would help if things went wrong at that speed. That's crazy fast on a boat.
