I finally found a boat I really like but it has alot of gel coat cracks in places that dont have any stress. Like around the glove box and by the blower vent. Is this common? I owned a 2000 2100 limited and the only place i got cracks was where the tower mounted. Is this normal? Is it under warranty?

How old is it? My old boat was 17 years old when I sold it and it had a few cosmetic cracks in the gelcoat on the topsides where it looks like it took a beating from the sun and dried out a little. I wax and use babes more often now with the new boat but if its more than 10 years old and mostly kept outside I could see how they could form.2009 RZ2, PCM 343, MLA Surf Ballast, Premium Sound.

Many boats will throw a few gel coat cracks initially. After they are initially repaired, then there should be minimal new ones over the lifetime of the boat if it was done properly.Be excellent to one another.

That looks odd to me for a 2005, look over the boat very carefully for more cracks, especially near or below the waterline. If you can try and show the pics or the boat to a good fiberglass repair guy, see what they think, and let us know.2009 RZ2, PCM 343, MLA Surf Ballast, Premium Sound.

I would look that puppy over thoroughly. Those are strange places to have that happen. Also, 500 hours on a 05...our is an 05 and it had 285 when we got it. We just got it at the end of this season. Our's was on a lake for the entire summer for 5 years. hmm...just my opinion but look that thing over several more times.

I dont normally stress about stress cracks LOL but I have to say those are very odd. I have not seen Tiges crack there.Around tower mount and ski pole on v-drives sure but those would concern me. I would make sure a trained person paid by you not the seller took a close look at those and would get an est. for repair. It being so far away and ???? I would keep looking but thats just my

That makes me nevous. It may be the case but I looked for several months before buying ours and didn't find any boats with more then two unless it was around the bottom of the tower (then finding 4 places with cracks). To find them around places where there is stress (pylon, bottom of tower, cleats etc.) is ok but multiple places where there isn't stress or rather not suppose to be stress...makes me think and think and think....
