Majestic, hope your daughters doing well. My daughter too was diagnosed with Wilms' tumor when she was three months old and had her left kidney removed. She was either a stage II or III, since it metastized to her lungs which required chemo plus radiation. It seems like just yesterday we were trying to clean her mainline and keep her hands away from grabbing at it....trying to keep it dry at bathtime...doing the required flushes....etc.
That was 12+ years ago and now at 13 is doing very well, in fact she is probably the least sick in terms of colds etc. out of our whole family! She still has a good size scar on her left side that runs from the front to just past her side that is slightly raised and pale white, but it has never bothered her and to my hapiness and dismay.....still will wear nothing but bikinis.
I can tell you every doctors appointment from here on out you will be anxious, but like everything else time heals and obviously for anyone with a cancer passing time is a good thing. To this day I am still anxious around follow up appointments, blood work, etc., but the worry gets a little less every year.
Keep the faith...feel free to let me know if you have any questions.
