    Rudder Offsett?

Hi there 21i 2000 model over here in aussie land
Just woundering as to why my rudder is offset to the prop sharft, to the right hand side about an inch or so???????
And should my rudder turn equal to either side of center? As it goes to 40deg to the left and about 40 deg to the right?
should i adjust so they are both the same or is the normal with the rudder being offset?

Yes it should be offset. The only reason that comes to mind is for prop and shaft removal. There is a post on this site that explains why, I haven't been able to find it yet, but this was answered about a year or two ago.

found it. pg 2 last post.

Thanks Dale. What did you think about the rudder turning? 45 deg to 40 deg left to right? does yours do the same or does it turn 45 deg both ways? And is your throttle lever firm when you pust it forward and can you take your hand off it and drive with 2 hands on the wheel without the lever pulling back up to the idle possition? I have to keep my hand on it to hold it down and i would like to drive with 2 hands on the wheel. can it be tightned up??

Sorry about the rudder, I forgot to check it. I will check that, I will be out of town this wkend and my baseball season ends this Thursday so I will have more time and will check it out by next wkend.

As far as the throttle goes, mine works great. I can get up to the speed I want and let go and drive w/ 2 hands. I do this all the time when someone is skiing and especially when someone is surfing. Sometimes you have to play w/ it to get it right, but when you do it will stay unless the skier is really pulling. Wakeboarding and surfing once it is dialed in it usually stays.

I really don't know how to tighten this up; maybe someone else can chime in on that.

            sorry forgot again.
            pm sent.

Here is what I found. Looking from the back of the boat the rudder turns toward the passengers side over 45°, to the drivers side it is less like you said about 40°.

Hope this is what you needed.

            Sorry about that.
