Most of the deprecation happens when the boat is driven off the lot, just like a car. Look at NADA for a similar boat 4 years older and you'll see what I mean. However, unless it a wooden Cris Craft, boats are an investment in family time, not money. You should know that a perfect boat in perfect condition will break, and that BOAT = Break Out Another Thousand, and if you love being on the water as much as I do, it doesn't matter what type or condition the boat is in, being on the water is another state of mind, its just beautiful.
Having said that, boats that are made for the activities that YOU like to do on the water will make the time a little more enjoyable, that is why I sold my Bayliner and bought a Tige.
