    Switch I vs 21i

What are the 'Switch' models designed for? Can you wakesurf with them? We are looking for a multisport ride/surf/ski boat (likely an 03 21i) and I saw the Sitch series boats but can't find out a whole lot about them? Are they good multisport boats?

Anyone selling an 03 21i for reasonable?

The Switch series was an entry level, price point boat. The 21i is a really nice, luxury D drive.

Can I ask why you're looking for a D drive? I only ask because I own one and I'm ready for a V drive. I thought I was going to ski a lot but, now I just surf.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

I want a DD b/c I still like to ski. Although I'm in my mid-forties now and hitting the water at 33mph is starting to hurt more than when I was in my 20's. I have taken to wakeboarding over the last few years and really want to try surfing. My kids are 7 and 4 and are getting into it and will no doubt want to ride and surf as well. Mom and Dad still like to climb on the ski now and then though. Thought a 2003 21i would be a good multisport boat. It seems there are some decent deals on the 21i's.

Here are some pics of the wave on my 21i...about 1700 pounds and 3 people. Took most of the summer to dial it in but it was nice...I guess what I am saying is you can definetly surf with a 21i. If you wind up buying it I still have all my fat sacs and 2 pumps if you are interested.

I have a 20i and we love it. Looking at setting it up for wake surfing next year.

Shamus-I may be interested in your set-up.

We have an 03 21i and love it. We bought it and planned on upgrading to a vdrive one day soon but we will probably keep it now since it is so versatile. I have a fiend who surfs on a MC X2 and was surprised with the surf wake our boat producd with only 500# of ballast and 4 people. I now use about 1200# and am very satisfied.

                    Tigebert,

I have a 2004 Switch I that I'd be willing to sell for a great price. I'm fairly close to you. PM me if you want details. My family just doesn't use the boat that much anymore. As others have said the Switch was an entry level price boat but the hull & engine are the same as the 20I series.

Mine has a Marine Power 335 MPI engine with only 350 hours on it, I've got a Samson tower, and it has Perfect Pass Wakeboard Pro on it.

Mine looks like a surf wake.

Mine boat is a 4000 lb fatass though.

We have a 2005 21i and love it. We use it for skiing and surfing and the transition from one to the other is pretty quick. It is pretty easy to get a great wake from the i series as they are easier to "sink" down in the water than the V series. Meaning it doesn't take as much weight because of the beam width.
