an extra hub would be a good idea, I lost one of mine last year 10miles from home. I jacked up the axle and wedged a wood block in the suspension and limped home.

I have been towing short distances for many years and have NEVER had a problem.
Good news it only cost $79 at a local glass shop to get the glass replaced.
Another item to carry - shop vac to get the broken glass....If its not fun, Why do it?

To answer a few questions - New boat and trailer October 2009. This past year I purchased a spare tire, tie down straps, home made version of rock tamers and boat came with road a cover. I bought a 4-way lug wrench also to make sure I have a lug wrench that fits the trailer since my truck lug-wrench did not fit. The trailer hubs are sealed and has no grease fittings. Anyone know how reliable these hubs are. I have spent many years greasing and repacking wheel bearings but I am unfamiliar with these new style hubs.
DUMB question-can I syphon most of the gas out of the gas tank to have less weight? Or maybe just run it almost dry before my trip.
Location=Pennsylvania from Texas. We are originally from PA, relocated to Houston about 6 years ago, and are thinking of going to PA with the boat to vacation with friends and family up there or maybe meet half way at some lake, but I was looking at longest distance scenario. I am familir with the waterway we would be going to in PA as I grew up on those waters. If its not fun, Why do it?

I'll be sure to keep the names for the next time.... What I love more than everything else (about boating) is a warm night boating through a big city with lights on the bridges and all…. I'm hoping Jacksonville will be the ticket next time

Nashville was great for the night life.. It was a show (for sure to walk down the strip with flip flops surf board and stay in a 5 star hotel) and end up in the blue bird cafe....
Chattanooga was the best over all so far... nothing 'over the top' but lots of real good stuff. Every body should take their 'little turd of a boat' and get flushed out a nasty lock filled with green slime... aleast once... It was to to funny!
my big bad *** black boat was just a little turd in a big slime green toilet.
fun fun stuff.

Towed my boat from Souris MB to the factory in Abiline. 24 hour trip down. Picked up the boat a few months later which was another 24 hour trip back. Roughly 4800 km's towing my 24v with my 2009 silvy 5.3. Tows perfectly fine and would do it again in a heartbeat. Truck has 60,000k on it.2016 Tige Z3, 2014 Tige Z3

Yes, forgot that some forget that there are lands beyond the borders. That is kilometers which is 40,000 miles. Thanks for clearing that up.2016 Tige Z3, 2014 Tige Z3

"K" is standard shorthand for "kilo", meaning "thousand" or 10^3.
Standard shorthand for kilometers is "km". The "k" by itself means a dimensionless number.
BTW, my response was meant to be a joke, hence the {grin} at the end.

I do understand what K actually stands for. However since we were talking about one subject I figured it would make sense to what I was talking about. Canadians just like to mess with you guys down there cause we can talk both languages and like to add to the confusion. Its why we keep quebec around, no one cares for them but they are good for a joke.2016 Tige Z3, 2014 Tige Z3

BTW, we drove to Calgary last summer. My 8YO son really enjoyed "going over 100" on the freeways. (Yes, he clearly understands the difference between miles and kilometers/kilometres and was making a joke.) Even our friends in Calgary echoed your comment about Quebec. Maybe Canada SHOULD let them secede!
