    GPS cruise

I'm going to be adding a GPS cruise to my '06 22v over the winter, but i'm unsure of which system I need to purchase. I'm not sure if my motor is TBW, its a gm vortec 340 hp.

Also, will either of the systems(PP or Zero off) take away my ability to see water temp and depth? If so which one?

I think the guys at Perfect Pass keep on file this information about every boat. Call them, they can almost always tell you.

A friend of mine had his Tige cruise go out on his 2006, and he was unable to get any kind of PP because the software to link it to the engine throttle is unavailable. (His 24Ve is TBW) I hope you are not screwed...but I think you are and you will need to stick with the Tige cruise.
    Be excellent to one another.

pop da hood and see if there is a throttle cable attached to the throttle body or is there a motor (black bob with connector with about 8 wires or so. Also, look/feel behind the throttle level, do you find one or two cables connecting to it? One will be the shift cable.

I know the 06 Ve models were TBW and used the Tige Accu-Set, but I wanna say that the V models were just 05's with an 06 hull ID, so they still used a cable driven throttle.

Zero Off isn't really an option for you. Especially if your engine is mechanical.

Perfect pass can will work as long as its not TBW like the other guys said. (for that engine).

You can still retain the water temp, but it just depends on which gauge your replace for it.

I have been emailing with the sales rep for PP, she told me that if my engine is the marine power engine then it is TBW. Which I believe it is. I'm going to call my dealer to find out for sure Monday to make sure first.

Is there any differences that I should be looking at between zero off and PP star gazer?

How long should one take to install? I'm planning on having my marina do the install for me.

I have a marine power and it is definitely a mechanical throttle.

This is what the rep asked me,
"Can you please tell me if your engine is Marine Power or is it a Mercruiser?"

I told here I wasn't sure because my boat is in storage at the moment, but I believe it was a Marine Power engine. Maybe someone can correct me if I am wrong. I am calling my marina to make sure tomorrow.

Here is what the rep said back,
"Ok, all Marine Power Engines are DBW (Drive By Wire) but we will need to have this confirmed for sure because it’s a whole different kit from the “Mechanical” ones."

The rep was mistaken. My 2005 Marine Power engine had Perfect Pass. My buddy with the 2006 is DBW and is Marine Power...he is the one that can't use anything else other than Tige cruise. His Tige cruise pad broke, and he tried to get PP, and he couldn't. Finally, he was able to track down a replacement pad.

Nope! I have one of the first 06 V's off the line and it was TBW. You had the option to choose either or

Zero off is used more for 3 event tournament skiing. Its more expensive and you may have to replace the ECM, which is another $600
