Being a major OU fan and a staunch conservative.... I am perpetually vexed w/ the conundrum of who to hate more. Obama or the Univ. of Saxet.

Sorry to jump in late on this... but had a thought. I really dont think that much power is necessary either buuut when you get into that large of a motor fuel consumption is an issue. I know turbo charged vehicles realize fuel consumption gains...is that the same for supercharged or is the savings lost in the gearing for the supercharger?

Turbos and superchargers only get better fuel economy when they are on like little 3.0L diesels and tiny motors that are made to give them a little bit of power when needed. But when you strap a twin screw to a mustang or a turbo or 2 on there those are made for nothing but raw power and when you have something with 575HP its not going to be good on fuel.FairTax.org

Horse Power?
I have a 2007 20i that I tanked the engine when the water pump failed. I replaced it with a 405 hp 383. I use the boat for barefooting. I am currently replacing the prop with a 13 x 15 to give me about 51 mph. It snaps your head from 20 to 45.So this monkey walks into a bar...

There's more to the equation on fuel usage, weight, drag, prop, driving style, etc. A Tige with that engine might not use as much fuel as you think. I also heard that it's more than $10k for that upgrade. I went with some buddies to Powell and one was running his 25' Baja with a built 496 and Whipplecharger on it and the other was running his 24' Malibu with the 496 and the Malibu used more gas per day than the Baja did and he was running that thing around at 70+mph all day long!
