I have the stock 537 on our 24Ve right now. After reading comments here, and talking with Acme, the 1235 is apparently the way to go to accommodate our 2000+ feet of altitude gain (read: engine power loss) and our plans to ballast the boat.
One big question: Is there any problem with trailer clearance? There is perhaps one inch of clearance between our 537 and the trailer's prop protector bar. The 1235 is one inch larger in diameter, which means I'll have about half an inch of clearance. That's danged close.
As far as I can see, there is no height adjustment possible on our trailer's bunks (Dorsey 24Ve-specific trailer shipped from the Tige factory).
What have you seen when repropping your boat? Any clearance issues? Any resolutions?
Thanks!
