A few of decided to camp at Echo last weekend. When we drove out there a storm started blowing in. When we got to Echo we were greeted by 40+ winds. We hung around for about an hour and took some pictures and waited for the wind to die down. We headed out and had an absolutely amazing night with no one else on the whole north end of the lake. We woke up and had a leisurely breakfast and headed out for some riding. I got a nice long set in in some of the best water I've seen all year and my friend got half a set in before the wind started picking up and we headed back to the marina. After loading up we had 4-5' waves the whole way back. As you know, the next day a storm rolled through and left some major damage so I feel we got lucky to have such a great 20 hours .

Steering Cable?
Well as Mike knows I thought I had a steering cable going bad again. Well, luckily I had my mechanic buddy with me and we found out it wasn't the steering cable, it was the steering column binding.
We found a similar bolt, hacked off the threads and made it work and now we have a slightly stiff steering boat.

Those lake Mead winds are no joke. Lots of boats have sunk out there. Glad you made it back safely...but I bet your grip on the steering wheel in those big swells did the damage.Be excellent to one another.

You guys down South definately get some of the same water conditions as we do up here on the Columbia.
Never any fun trying to time the throttle with the wakes.
I have not taken any water over the bow in the last two years but I got close this season.Formertigeowners.com
