Lake Mead - Callville & Echo flood damage

If anyone had plans to launch at either Callville or Echo for a little while, you should check if the ramps are open before you drive to either location.

Isolated thunderstorms blew through the area on Monday, and resulting flash floods did some significant damage to Callville Marina (luckily, it seems that no private boats were damaged). The same storm system also washed out the dirt access road to the ramp at Echo.

Until they open back up, the only available ramps are at Hemenway or Temple Bar.

Wow. That is the last thing LM needs.

Hemenway was really shallow and Temple bar is so far.

Holy Cow! I'm sure glad everyone was evacuated...but only 2 hours prior. Thats kind of cutting it close.

Wow, flash floodes are no joke! I hope everything gets reopened by the time I drive through there on my way to WA.

Thanks for the head's up. I was thinking of going down next Friday or Monday. Will be sure they are open by then.
