    22 or 24

Hello, I have been looking at the 24v boats for the room and now I have been considering a 22v for the handling. Is it worth it to go to the 22v? Is there anyone that wishes they would have bought a 24v instead of a 22v? Thanks!

The more room the better. I would go with a 24ft

I do some recreational slalom skiing. Is the wake pretty close to the same for both lengths of boat?

I've heard that the 24 has a slightly better slalom wake then the 22.

wow, tough call here. The handling will be much better on the 22 and fits a few less people than the 24.

My family started out with a 24Ve and downsized to a RZ2 because the 24 was way too much boat for out family (totally of 7 people + friends 2-4 more people) and the wife wasn't comfortable driving a boat that didn't maneuver well. Ragboy also went from a 24Ve to a RZ2. His reasons seemed to be slightly different than mine but I can say we both aren't missing the roominess of the 24's (but again, the RZ2 can carry 1 person less than the 24Ve )

Good luck and hope that this helps you out.

I was looking at a 24ve and decided I only gave up a little bit of room when I went down to the RZ2. The bow on the RZ is huge compared to the 22 or 24v or Ve and the beam is the same size. The placard for capacity on the RZ2 is 15 people, it's a very roomy boat and handles very well. It's also lighter, easier to trailer and easier to fit inside a garage.

However, if you look at both boats in person, weigh all the above, and you can afford it, go with the biggest boat you can afford. Either way you are going to have a blast on the water.

You can't go wrong with either. We have a 24ve, and I've ridden once in a RZ2. Everyone seems to love their 22ve's.

If you can test drive each size, you'll know which is best.

My 2 cents is they both sizes maneuver well at faster than no wake speed, but the 24 definitely takes a learning curve backing up & maneuvering at docking speed/2mph. Not sure if the 22 is any easier at s--l--o---w speeds, but suspect it is a bit easier to turn.

I have gotten pretty good at kissing/bumping the throttle for small adjustments during docking and such and take it as a mark of pride I can get the beast to do what I want (sorta). People who have downsized from 24 to 22 say the 22 is easier so they'd know more than me.

One thing I do know is I have never regretted the bigger boat as we often have a crew of 10-12 on board (lots of teenagers/college aged kids)& the extra room is nice. I figure I spend more time at speed where the handling is fine vs. the slow speed docking. And in the 24 I can pull a full speed g-force uTurn that will blow your mind....in fact that maneuver sold me on the boat when we tested it.

Good luck with whichever you choose.

                X2 for the RZ2!
