What weighting are you running when surfing
Regular?

We just picked surfing mid/late this summer.

I'm still trying to dial in the perfect weighting of my 21V. I was over weighted at 1800lbs before, although that may have to do with placement too. Most recently I've only run 750lbs in the port locker, 2 adults in the port side of the boat and my 100lbs wife driving and I was able to really ride but I think it can still get better.

They will work fine an a Ve with the Surf or Pro ballast upgrade. They are a plug'n-play for the factory 350# rear sacs. For those with no ballast or just the base level 900#'s, the original custom is the sac for you. If those with the Surf/Pro level, but want a faster fill/drain time, then I would suggest the original custom so you can plump it in as a standalone sac with it's own pump(s).

Once ragboy runs them a bit and has some feed back, we will tweak them and hopefully have a price nailed down and be ready to take orders.

I think the regular sac needs some tweaking, goofy seems perfect, but the wave is PERFECT. I posted this in another thread, but we did tests on boths sides during the day, several surfers.

Dennis rode, and said the wake was great, tons of push, and it was the cleanest wave I have seen, it was SO clean, tall and long. It was up to dennis waist, yet still at rubrail, not unsafe. I think this is because we have weight running all the way up the side.

Chris Martinez rode the goofy side, along with RJ. Chris has a 22Ve. He is going to go home and experiment on his wake, because he said it wasn't that the wake was much bigger, it was big, but in his words, it was super fun, because it was effortless. He could adjust his feet, and make some mistakes, and not be punished by being thrown out the back. He definitely noticed the extra push this wake had over his 22Ve.

Your right. We put 1800 lbs of weight and it made a big difference. We are very pleased with our surf now.

Ragboy, what was your speed in this video? What was your total starboard sake + people weight? Did you use any bow weight.

After that, it varied, only because of people. I can tell you, that in my experience so far, about 80 hours on the RZ2, plus the demos and festival before, this is the killer setup for the RZ2. And let me make a quick point...

The PRO ballast setup for the RZ2, puts out a great wake, as seen in our video we did of JUST stock.



Any family will LOVE that wake, and its better than any other boat I have seen from the factory. However, I need a competition level wake. My kids all compete, and I host some of the best pros in the world, its got to be great.

That being said, this setup is SO easy, just replace the sacs with these customs and go. It is still a safe setup, water is not above the rubrail unless you fill your boat with people, then you can not load the sacs up full. And the boat is not overweight. This is a very tall order for other boats manuf. to do. It is amazing. I was so stoked this weekend.

Dennis Horton was in the boat and surfing, he said the wake was better than most competitions he has been a part of, and he loved the wake. Watch in that video, when he is riding switch. Dennis is NOT goofy, so switch, he is less comfortable. He rides WAY back in the pocket, then just glides back. This setup provides LOTS of push. Mitch is a skim boarder, and he rides with no fins. I have some video I will have to add of him. He loved the wake also, wasn't too steep for him, we just bought the taps down to 1 or 2.

Anyway, it was a great weekend and the testing with new sacs went beyond my expectations. Dennis looked at me and said, "Robert, I thought we wanted to do that mywake run tandem with Jessica later. If we go to regular for you and mitch, how many times you want to switch back and forth" I said, "I don't care, its all automated, just 15 minutes one side to the other." Dennis returned, "Oh yeah, cool, no problem."

One caveat. You lose push if you have weight on the opposite side. This made the regular wake more amazing because all of the people could sit on the regular bench. But on goofy, not enough room, so when we had extra people the goofy lost a bit of push. This is just due to the drivers seat, and the cooler, not much to do about it. But with a normal sized family, setup this way, and put the big people behind the driver seat when goofy, it will be just about perfect. Add more people and it still is a great wake, just loses a bit of push.

Hope that helps. Don't try to order the sacs yet, we have some necessary tweaks, be patient, I promise you will be able to call Mike (chpthril) to get then when done. I have also received the adjustments that would need to be made to make these work for the RZ4. Let me work out the few minor issues, and then Mike will give the word.
