Local Law Threads

I have been thinking all day about a way to look up info on the local laws on the lakes we ride that are non-standard. Here is how I think we could organize it:

then in the alabama section the first sticky thread would be user submitted laws about the state, then have threads under that for special regulations for a specific body of water. Then, if you are planning to travel to a lake you are unfamiliar with, you can search for the lake you are going to. For example, in TX you don't need a skier down flag but we know from Texas_Tige that on lake Conroe you do need one. My brother lives near that lake and if I went there to visit him and we took my boat out I would not have known that.

This idea is kind of like a Wiki for local laws and it would only be as good as the submissions but I think this site has that caliber of people to make it happen.

It is a good idea but the entry needs to be validated by posting the link to the actual rule. I know some guys that think they know the local rules but is just something they heard.

Excellent point, we can incorporate that "rule" on the sticky instructions thread. When Matt is ready I'll PM him and get something started. I think it will work better if we split the states up by regions, the simplest way would be east or west of the Mississippi and then one thread for Canada. No offense to our friendly neighbors to the north but I don't think there will be enough submissions to split them up by Province.
