22v , 340 hp, ride with full ballast and maintain rpm below 3000 and the needle hardly moved after three hours of riding.

Its a new boat though so I am unsure as to what the consumption would be when run in.

The Tige gauge does not work well at all. The boat has be level, like pile everyone in front of the windshield and the look at the gauge. My gauge when it reads half full indicates that I have about 7 gallons left in the tank. And at the consumption rate of the boat, I better find fuel within the next 20 miles.

The only thing I can think of it that there is a fuel return. That would account for the high gph. But you verified by refill, hmmm I'm thoroughly confused.

I'm gonna do a test this weekend. Fill up, run for an hour solid at say 22 mph (average) then fill up again. We'll see how that comes out.

But with the fill up, there is always a sketchy point, cause you can fill the fill tube, that might give a gallon or so variance. Sorry just thinking and typing.

Unfortunately, I don't believe the Fariah gauge offers an average GPH reading. I'll definitely look for it, since many folks here have mentioned it (probably from their Navman units).

I'm under the impression that this boat eats a lot of gas (at least more than my 2003 22v), but it sure does not eat twice as much as the GPH reading from the gauge would lead me to believe.

It could be that the Fariah gauge may be off in it's GPH reading (not proven yet), but be correct on the reading that tells me how much gas is left in the tank.

Regardless, if this boat is truly drinking that much gas, you would think it'd be running rich enough that I should be able to tell by inspecting the spark plugs - Does anyone concur? Does anyone know if the engine computer can tell me something when properly plugged in to a diagnostic device to see if I have a problem in the boat or is it all in my head? - hint - hint - Mr. M.D.?

In a car it's really easy to measure Miles Per Gallon? What do you do in a boat?
