alright i really need some advice for weighting my boat.. with no ballast my boat throws a pretty wide wake thats not very steep. we usually sit people in the front or in the middle to narrow up the wake.. im looking at buying a 750 pound sack and putting it in the aisle while sitting everyone in the back.. will this make my wake taller and narrower? please help..any advice appreciated..

I had an 04 tige 20v and I put two 750s end to end starting in the bow aisle. I thought that was the best wake I could make. With just one I would still start in the bow aisle. Always your speed contributes directly to the width of the wake. I liked it at 70 foot rope and 23.6 speed. Very clean poppy and easy to clear. But the wake is very nice with two 750s.GO BIG!!

it's all a preference. i have a 22ve i put 2 350 lb sacs in each locker and a 750 in the bow. 75' rope at 22.5 taps on 5 makes a sweet wake, but i like to go big.the slower you go the meatier the wake, but it has to be clean to boot you. the faster you go the harder the wake, it also narrows the wake.it depends on what you want. in tiges new pro ballast system they have 1200lbs up front and 800lbs in the rear.60/40 split imagine that?I do all my own stunt work. hey ya'll watch dis.

sorry hycosurf my mistake the new pro ballast is 800 in front and 1200 rear. i just found if i have more weight in the front it makes wake more rampy. my regular set up is 750 front aboht 600 to 650 rear. then i have a 540 i put up in the isle as far forward as possible for a monster wake.I do all my own stunt work. hey ya'll watch dis.

This is probaly over kill but I have an 08 20v that throws a massive beautifully shaped wake. I have a 750 sack up front along with 400lbs of sand under the front seats. one 750 in each rear locker as well as 400lbs of sand and lead in the rear. run taps between 4 and 6 depending how many people are in the boat. spent alot of time weighting the boat and this seems to be the best. lived with tige pro rider cathy williams for the winter and she helped make one hell of a big nice poppy wake!
Below are some pics of me hitting the wake. I have many more pics of the these are jus the best quality they were taken by a local photographerLast edited by T.J.; 10-04-2010, 09:45 AM.

I sealed my sand bags up good they dont leak all over the place I actually did give the neighbor kids my left over sand to play with haha. and the invert is a tantrum the other pic was an switch off axis 5 that went wrong from the start haha. sand is awesonme for tucking under seats pretty much anywhere its very cheap ballast also.
