    Ragboy instructions

We tried wakesurfing a couple of times last year. It started off great but the boys lost interest. I made several attempts
this summer but only received the typical teenage response (which is more like hungry apes with sleep deprivation)

I looked at Ragboy's Wake9 website and took in as much advice as possible. Our surf maker skills needed refinement, along with a fresh new approach (ape antidote)

From there I proceeded to buy three new Fatsac's and a Tsunami water pump. With sac and people, we were about 1600lbs+ on port and starboard (two skiers were goofy). This gave us a nice 4' clean surf on both sides. (a good foot difference from last year)

This created the perfect surf just like the ones on Ragboy's website.

The sport of Wake Surfing has risen from the dead. Everybody wants to surf now. I couldn't imagine life without YouTube, high speed internet, and people willing to share their time and knowledge for the good of good.

    Thanks Ragboy!

That is what its all about. We have super good friends that vist 2-3 times at the lake for fun and boating. this yr we got all surfing and they went nuts. Beck (the 16 yr old) really got excited and they came up another 3 times to surf. His Mom and Dad went to. I think I posted Ralph here a few weeks ago. So lots of fun and now I'm making new ballast plan with Chpthril. Keep shreddin.

Very cool, that makes my day, I love to hear that. The wake looks nice and chocolaty. ;-) Get that rub rail down a bit more and it will get even better. Keep posting the pics and vids.

Post vids or pics of your kids surfing here:

If they are under 16, I will send a free shirt.

Nice job, surfing is our families favorite sport.

BTW is that Coke or Pepsi that you are surfing in?

Its funny, it doesn't look like most brown water I have seen, it actually looks like root beer or something. But hey, if you can surf on it...

Cypress marshes lend to the black color with the tannin from the trees. This does not necessarily mean the water is dirty or polluted. The pictures are from Lake Tarpon, Florida. This is actually a very clean lake.

The boys are all 16, and the girl is much older. We'll try putting the rear end lower but I think it's a little more difficult with an RZ4 (compared to an RZ2). When I look at your vid's, it looks as if the bow is pointing toward the sky. Our RZ4 bow was up, but not like yours. What are you thoughts? Another sak? I'll do some math later this week and tell you exactly what our sak weight/distribution is and take it from there. Thanks you so much! Oh! T-shirts for the Kid's would be a nice gift, how much are they?

Any of you guys boat in FL? That is standard water color for lakes. Spring fed rivers are more clear but they brown up the farther downstream you get from the spring. I know it looks ugly but its a small price to pay for year round riding. Before I lived in TX I lived in Orlando. It was great, I miss FL.

On the T-Shirts, I haven't really sold any, I just give them away when someone learns on our boat, or to kids that learn. But 16 and under works for me, just post in that forum and we will take care of it.

Yes, like my 24Ve it takes more weight. Try ONLY putting weight in the surf corner on the RZ4, and none up front, see how that works for you. The RZ2 NEEDS weight up front, we didn't need it on the 24Ve. But the RZ2 also has much more PUSH with the wave. It is so much harder to fall out of the RZ2 wave, compared to the 24Ve. We are planning to get the Ve out soon, and try to get the extra push, like we do on the RZ2, but we are guessing its going to take a lot of weight. It will be a fun experiment.

My guess, is that the RZ4/24Ve is probably capable of making a bigger, and as good of (push and all) wake as the RZ2, but its going to take more weight, than most people would be comfortable with, and that is what makes the 22 foot boats very desirable. I will have more to say on that after our Ve experiment.

That said, the 24 (ve/rz4) is still a great wake. I am guessing you will need 1700lbs or so in the surf corner (water and people) to get the rub rail down on the RZ4, and no weight up front.

Too cold for us....about 68-74F. If we have 3 staight weeks without bitter cold snaps, then you'll see 74F in Lake Tarpon during Christmas week. The average depth is only 10 feet.

This is still too cold for us spoiled rotten Florida people.

Ok. Will do! We'll have enough saks to do exactly as you mention. This time we'll take video's and post them.
Everyone's excited. Thank you for the tips.
