    Z1 Question

I was doing a little research on the surf wave on a Z1 and I was reading about the swim platform making it a little tough to clean up the wave. This was an older thread, is this still the case on the new Z1s or is it a smaller swim platform now? One person was saying that when the boat was heavily wieghted the swim platform made a secondary lip in the wave...

I have an 09 Z1 and do not have that problem.

I think it was when the boat was really loaded. Do you have surf ballast? How do you like the boat...reason I am asking is I am pretty sure I am buying a new 2010.

I do not have surf ballast, just factory ballast tanks in rear and bags under bow seat. We mainly go wakeboarding then surf to wind down the day. With that said, I had a guy on my boat the other weekend that had a 24VE with about 2400 lbs of ballast for his surf setup and we was thoroughly surpirised by how good my surf wake was right out of the box and he and his girlfriend were killing it behind our Z1.

We love our Z1, looked at the 20V first but it seemed to small for our needs (5-7 adults), the Z1 is perfect and has been a great boat for our first summer with it.

          Shamus,
I have a Z1 and I use a 400lb sac in the rear and then a 260lb side sack underneath the seat (towards the back same side) and then I have the integrated bow sac and the other 260lb side sack in the walk way. Puts out a really nice wave. My buddy AustinSouthSide has ridden behind my boat and he was very impressed with the wave. Hope this helps.
