It doesn't really matter that the yota's are built/assembled here. The end revenues go back to the mother land. And the state our economy is in right now, we need all of the in our borders support and patronage we can get.
So buying from Oboma Motors would be sending the money to Kinya, right?

There was about 6 or 7 units replaced and only 2 chevys remained. They ran these trucks for about a year putting roughly 100,000km's on them. These trucks were used for work! Approx 1000lbs of weight in the box of tools and driven off the beaten path. The short of the story is that these trucks did not hold up as well as the chevy's. The boxes were falling apart, warning lights always on the dash, constant electical problems and hard on fuel. Thats no to say they will not be good in you application, but to say the Toyotas are a better quality truck is simply not true. They currently have only 1 Toyota left, which has been the one good one and a few new Dodges and the rest GMC's
Thats not a fair comparison, the Tundra is more comparable to a 1500, not a 2500. I would bet that any 1/2 ton truck abused as a work truck would come out as bad as the Tundra.

I don't think they're building 3/4 Burbs anymore right now. I think they have 1500s with the big 6.2 motor, but I'm not sure how the rest of it compares to a 2500 truck. Admittedly, I haven't researched them much because I'm going a different direction.
I've never owned a pick-m-up, maybe that's why I'm itching to get one.

You're going to get as many opinions on this as there are stars in the night sky... I say just look over the specs. (towing, GCWR, etc.) and pick the one you like the best... of the ones you want to consider.

Oh yea, just for the record...

I am just as American as the next guy and if you get past the name the Toyota brings the most revenue to the US of ANY manufacturer... Who cares if the company is international they are giving people jobs here in America! Sorry that comment really hit a nerve

My 08 Tundra 4x4 crew max. is hands down the best 1/2ton truck I have owned! Awesome power, Great breaks, never ever one problem with it! I love it (even though I think it looks like an old Studabaker).....UGLY!

Ok, I have always read it was on a 1/2 ton frame, I post corrected. I still don't think it should be compared against a F-250 or 2500 anything.

Sorry I hit your nerve! Yes the Toyota plants provide jobs in a very small concentrated area, town, community etc. What is most important is overall strong robust economy and job market in the ENTIRE U.S. The few hundred or so jobs a yota plant provides in a small regional area, may have a much larger job loss impact overall in our country, which means people employed elsewhere are getting fired or layed off and losing their jobs. Hey I'm not saying it's a bad product, we just need to support our own. Our brothers, neighbors, people in the next town. The more we buy that comes from somewhere else the less job opportunities and stability we will have here in our own communities. Some people just don't get it. If we don't buy here, who is going to have a job, eventually it will all belong to someone else. And then Obama's plans may just come true.

Man, has this thread taken a turn! Sorry if I muddied the waters!
I don't want to go to work, take me wake surfing instead!
