Hey, you might be on to something, now that is funny. I'm sure Kenya could use the money.

You need to buy a Tige first. Then we will tell you.

              2011 Silverado HD

After giving up on ford for numerous reasons, mainly standing behind their warranty, I switched to Chevrolet. What have I been thinking. My 3500 HD DRW Duramax gets 20-23 mpg, rides like no other, and is solid like a rock. My other vehicle is a Toyota for work when I have to do serious off roading and it tows great also.

It all boils down to amount of time towing.. Weekend towing with the Tundra is a perfect match. Much more than that and the Silverado HD will save you money on fuel and maintenance. Both are great.

I have a 2007 Chevy 2500HD 4x4 crew cab with classic body style and with the Duramax and Allison trans. I have over 120k miles on it. It is amazing. Just tows the 24v on hills like it isnt even back there. I purposly got the cloth interior and its just fine. No rips tears or other issues. It still has the original brakes, belt, water pump. One thing you should consider is that the trans has a drain plug and an external filter. Very easy to maintain the trans. Great truck!

We're towing with a 2010 Silverado 1500 right now (Tige RZ4). I would definately get the 6.0 engine and the 2500 version if you choose a Surburban. If you have a smaller lighter boat, then the 1500 would be fine. No hills here in FL...so my suggestion is based on flat ground and approx 6000 of boat/trailer weight. Our Tundra (currently getting fixed from fire damage) does a MUCH better job than the Surburban for towing and has the smaller V8. So for arguement sake....the Tundra feels a lot like a 3/4 ton truck compared to the Surburban 1500 (1/2 ton chassis). The Tundra 4.7 outperforms the the Surburban 5.3 without a question. However, the Surburban is made to be a much softer smoother ride and it has MUCH nicer interior quality. The Tundra is about quality that will not fall apart at 80,000miles. It's simply a trade off. Chevrolet, Ford and Dodge products are not made to go 150K without continual major repairs. I know I'm going hear for SOMEONE how their Chevy, Ford, or Dodge vehical went 130K with no problems and never changed the oil. This is not about the few, the pround and the minority, this is about everyone else. Point to make....Amica Insurance switched from Taurus to Maxima beacause their Taurus fleet would start to fail apart at 40K and become a costly headache at 80K. They average 80K miles in less than 18 months. Their Maxima's (and Camry's) don't have a lick of problems at 80K. My farthers Taurus fell apart during warranty as well (AC and Tranny failure) So there you have it. Problem solved! American car/truck manufacturers still make junk.

I'v never owned an american vehical that hasn't gone the distance tooooooooooooooo! As for Government motors, the current admisistration is more concerned about the average joe with the average job who will someday be able to buy an average boat from the average boat dealer (Forte Inboard) and then have the average boat mechanic (Forte Inboard) do average repairs and average maintenance. If GM wasn't bailed out, then the average joe wouldn't have above average pay to buy an above average boat (like a Tige), which ultimately turns the average boat dealership into above average. Mr. Dom.....lets get real and stop hiding behind your right wing mascot, this administration had done more for the average Joe in 2 years than the prior administration did in 8. So for fun....lets put some money on the next election. $10 bucks says the dems take 60% of the senate (up 1) and $10 bucks that the Dems gain 5 seats in the house.

Dom is not average mechanic by any stretch. Inboard boats are not build for the average guy look at the prices. Ford sure as hell did not need a bail out. GM was driven into the ground by greadie unions lazy labor I have family that work for GM in and out of the union and know this first hand. They got bailed out and still had to file for bankruptcy that worked well. As for this administration well all that can be debated what has been done and for whom. However, I will gladly take your bet lets add pink slips to each others boats as well I will throw in all my gear as well. Wanna get it in writing and have it notarized???? Dems gaining in the senate and house you must be having delusions of grandeur.

Oh and please don't judge my grammar or spelling. Hey Nobody I have a tundra 4.7 for my boat. This is to pull an enclosed work trailer. So we need space in the SUV as well as something that can pull on flat ground with good stopping. Thats about it here in FL. I have heard there were issues with the 6.0 and would buy something a few years old cause I am a cheap *** and its for work.

You may want to check out full size vans, like a Ford Econline 350, they are not as expensive as SUV's, have alot of room, and many are built to tow.

                              I'll take that bet!

By the way can you name 3 things please that this administration did to immediately help the 'average' Joe?
                              Waiting for another good one!

I'll take a piece of that action!

Oh, and i'll make it easy...........name one thing that NObama has done for the avg "Joe" cause if NObama & Pelosi have done anything to help anyone, you are either living off the public trough or you are a liberal politician.

Oh, and @ an earlier post about "buying US" i'll bet Toyo makes more cars here in the US then Gov' Motors does. Many GM's are made in Mexico and Canada and what money comes back to the US goes to the big pockets of the Executives. At leats with the so called "foreign" car companies, the US plants are co-owned by the employees I believe. So when you buy the "foreign" car, you are buying the car, not paying the union-shakedown mandated benefits of the retired/dead employees and their entire family as you do when you buy "American". And the "foreign plants aren't on strike every 6 months wanting more for less.
