    Ballast question

I have a 2007 RZ2 with the factory installed ballast system. When I fill the front wrap around sac, within minutes the sac drains completely out. It is not leaking from the sac itself so I am assuming the water is simply draining back out the fill hose.I am wondering if the pumps were not installed correctly as I would think they would have a one way valve?
    Any help would be appreciated.

I cant remember if Tige was using the bronze check-valves right after the pumps yet or not in 07. If so, it may be stuck open.

If no check-valves are used, you could either install one, or re-route the fill line, up by the sac, so it makes a loop higher then the sac. Kind of like an upside down drain trap. This loop breaks the siphon and prevents the self-draining. Oh, and you got 2 fill pumps and fill lines.

      Thanks chpthril,
There are no check valves on either pump. Where do you buy these valves and can I install them in the line before the pumps? There is not much room from the 2 outlets on the pump and the sac itself.

I think you may be looking at the bow sacs drian pumps. The fill pumps are connected to a common manifold located in the bilge. It will have 2 other pumps on it also...they are for the rear tanks. It may be hard to see without pulling the backseat bench and floor.

here is a thread with a pic of the 07 factory fill pump manifold.

You are right, I was looking at the sac drain pumps. I did find the pumps under the rear seat access hole, at least I could feel them anyway. I will pull the access cover down and check to see if the valves are stuck as suggested. Were the pumps in the new picture positioned that way to alleviate the filling problems that the stock placement has? I have problems filling the rear because of the priming issue.
