    What TIge tower is this?

I saw this today in the parking lot of In and Out Burger. We had just returned from the lake ourselves but went to a different restaurant.

It looks just like the E tower, but the upright has been swapped out with a round tube. And it looks like a Z5 cargo rack.

The knothead had 2 surfboards and 2 waterskis up there. So I guess he has faith it wouldn't fly off. The liability if one of the skis or boards came loose would be astronomical if anyone got hurt or had major damage to a car. Somehow people do not realize the force that can be put on a board at 75 MPH (this is right by the freeway exit). Anyway, maybe my profession as a doctor makes me paranoid about liability sometimes.

Back to the main point, where did this tower come from?

That is the 2nd one like that that has been posted up here recently.

The boat is definitely an 06-08 Ve, as it has the longer windshield. But, starting with the 06 Ve tower, the billet upright had 2 contact points on the bottom bar. That tower has only one, so I will say that it's not a Tige "E" with new uprights. Instead, I will it's a one-off/copy of the Tige "E", with tube uprights so the maker could use an off the shelf aftermarket board racks.

Interesting that we would not have seen an advertisement for this or something before. I do not know the guy, but see him out at the lake pretty regularly. I may just corner him and ask if he knows where the tower came from.

I think the tower looks nice, and if it is the same as the E in design, it should be rock solid. That flat uprights look just a little flashier, but this is simple and effective, with some benefits of being able to add aftermarket stuff to it easier.

That tower was offered in 2006 on the ve series boats.

Lee, If it was offered, did Tige make it, is it still available? Looks like one I would like to replace my Metcraft with. I really like the look.

The tower above was the standard "E" series tower, the option was the "Jeweled Billet" insert and that is what most dealers ordered.

Now I know what the "Jeweled Billet" is that came on my boat, I have been looking for that for awhile

There is also a plain billet looking upright that can be had with the single lower mounting point, like the one that is on a 20v stock.

It is an E series tower with tubular uprights.

Thats what the other guy said!

J/K Hard to believe we have never seen one posted here till two in the last month. I never even know there was a base-level "E" series
