    Holy crap...

We had a bit of a storm here is Austin. Lake came up so much that it flooded several areas and wrecked havoc on many boats, houses, and families. My boat didn't get the worst of it and I feel verf fortunate to only have this to deal with, but the season might have ended early. Mine is the white Tige. It must have floated and carried the trailer to where it is now, roughly 20 yards from where it was parked.

Not sure of the damage yet, but concerned about the hull damage, prop/shaft damage, swim deck, trailer, engine/trans/v-drive, stereo. The boat was full of water at some point. The plug was out and silty water is in the lockers and engine compartment.

Here are some pictures from the local news.

No rear tiedown straps? It should have kept the boat to the trailer in the rear.
I'm on a boat man. I got my flippy floppies....

No tie downs. Never saw the point in using them unless I was actually taking it somewhere. That will probably change now.

So sorry to see that. I hope you have good insurance and the process to getting back on the water is a smooth one.

Yes. I do have full coverage insurance. There is literally a hundred boats that got worked over pretty good from what I am hearing. It sounds like it will be several weeks to months before the shop even has time to look at it. That's the worst part for me.

Wow, glad that the damage isn't as bad as it could have been. Did the water go down quickly or was it gradual? If gradual, you might not have as much damage as if the boat "slammed" the ground.

wow that's crazy. Hope its fixed soon, and yeah I'd for sure use tie down straps. I used them all the time regardless of towing or not...

Yes, boat is still chillin in the parking lot.

Okay, so tomorrow is the day. Hopefully... I have a guy coming with a crane that should be able to hoist it up. What would you think is the best way to lift it up. Our two thoughts so far are to..

                            1. Put a strap near the bow and one toward the stern and hoist it up. Concerns are the straps slipping off the curved bow and the boat.. (well, you know). Also, how do you get the strap out from under the boat once its set down on the trailer?

                            2. Use some sort of clips to the D-rings on the stern and another to the bow. I just don't want to rip them out and the boat.. fall!

Any suggestions would be appreciated. This is such a pain.

Ive done it a bunch while helping out or working for our former Tige dealer. We use to use 2 forklifts for the trailer boats. Those rings are intended to list the boat. Put a lifting strap through the bow eye and then hook the loops to the crane's hook. In the back, you could use one long one and a couple of clevis hooks, just use some carpet scraps with slits cut through for the lifting eye. This will protect the gel-coat from the clevis hooks.
