    Considering updating Fleet

We are looking at modernizing the 1999 22i after over 700 hours of great boating.

Leaning towards remaining in the Tige' family and considering going V-Drive this time due to our usage. Increase boarding, surfing, tubing and less skiing. Wife wants bigger 24V and I am leaning towards 22V, I am of the opinion we only a family of four therefore the 22V would be suitable and less operational costs, towing fuel, boating fuel, and perhaps a bit more responsive just based on size? I am looking around a 2005-2008 price point. I will be happy with either and I know both models rock just wanted to solicit opinions from experienced owners. Thank you in advance for any assistance with this topic.

Either would be a good choice....keep the wife happy!

Cant go wrong with either the 22V/Ve or 24V/Ve. It was not uncommon for us to have 8-10 out with us for a day on the lake and never felt over crowded or cramped in the 22Ve.

Most people say you can never have too much room and the 24 provides that. But either way going to a V drive you are going to have more room period.

I personally would be happier with a 22' over a 24'. Also where is your boat parked will a 24' fit?

i have a 07 22ve and my neighbor at the lake has a 07 24ve both have been trouble free.i have 420 hours on mine but neighbor doesn't ride as much his is more for pleasure the 24ve is about 3500 more money similarly equipped.can't go wrong with either one. mine will seat 8 people very comfortable. but sticker says 14. i think that would be very tight even with kids.both of us have 340 hp motor.i have 2100 lbs of ballast and no problem with power.hope this helps.
I do all my own stunt work. hey ya'll watch dis.

Do you plan for wife to drive? while the additional space is always nice, 22 is easier to drive. My wife really like 22Ve and rather comfortable. She does a good job of surf driving too although she's still getting used to it. We really like 22Ve and not had space issues even after being spoiled by prior boat which was 28 Formula 280 SS that was gigantic by comparison. 24 typically needs more ballast for surfing per other posts here

I always said I would never buy a 24 foot boat cause it is too big. Well I did, and sure glad. I do not think I could got back to a 22 footer. The 2 feet makes a big difference. Once you got it, you really appreciate it.

I love the space in my 06 24V. The extra 2 feet is worth it, IMHO.
I am looking to upgrade if you are interested.

I have a 2006 22v and think the size is fine. I can't comment on comparing to a 24Ve though. I did get a chance to get on a RZ2 and it seemed to have much more room as mine even though it was the same length. If a RZ2 is in your price point, I would look at that model.

First boat was 16ft. Second was 21 ft. We now have the 24v. I personally would like to have a larger one! go for the 24 and you will not go wrong

                      24 v 22:
While either/both would be great, when you have the extra people & need the extra room you'll be very glad you have it, and when you don't need it, you won't really notice it's too big.

You'll want big ballast for either/both anyway. I experience better gas mileage than I used to on my I/O--so not sure how much more it costs to run a 24 v 22. Probably not much. It probably won't fit in your garage anyway due to height on trailer so the extra 2 feet won't kill you. You won't notice the difference trailering it.

I have never regretted having 24 over 22
