All...thanks for the feedback. Too clarify...the 2010 RZ2 is not local but is loaded and only $64K. My conflict is why buy a 2009 that has same options when you can buy a 2010 for same price with the new touch screen.

Just seems like a 'no-brainer'. I do have some concern over the 409 but it would seem that would be perceived in a future market as a positive upgrade.

Do you all feel my conflict here?

We looked at the Mastercraft X-25. Simply too much money.

Is there anyway your local dealer can trade/bargain with the dealer that has the 2010...that way everyone's happy. I'm just thinking of how car dealerships trade cars/trucks with dealers all the time to keep the customer happy. But maybe the marine world is a little different.

We tried to convince our local dealer to do a dealer transfer and they will not. Was pretty bummed by that. We have been VERY open with our local dealer on budget, etc... His 2010 is for sale for $74K with same options. That is one of the reasons why I feel like it may be OK for us to by 'out of territory'.

I would go with the 2010. I would not buy another boat with out the 6.0. I love this motor. Mine is incredibly good on gas. I can not argue with 15-25 bucks an hour for operation. Canadian dollars to boot. Not 100% on this but the old 5.7L chevies were not plated cylinders but the 6.0 are. To me this is important for longevity of the motor in marine conditions. Not sure if they started plating the 5.7l or not.

The surf ballast is a great addition as well as touch screen. I think the general appearance of the 2010 is much cleaner at the helm.

Your dealer should be able to understand and match his price or service the boat for you. It is not like he gets boats for different prices then the other dealer.

What most people dont realize is that mostly ALL boat manufacturers set up territories so the dealers are not competing against each other and can each sell to their market area. There are hefty penalties for dealers who sell out of their territories. Profits from the sale can be required to be paid to the proper territory, warranty reimbursements can be withheld and dealers could loose their rights to sell the brand.
As mentioned before leftover model year stock is free game, but current year is territorial sales.
Now if your dealer works out an agreement with another dealer for an in-stock current year boat sale, than thats different.

                      Id go with option #1
                      1) 2010 RZ2 (surf ballast, pcm 409, bimini, racks). Not local. $64K

                      -Bimini is a must!
-New year model = better resale
-Touch screen would be a cool toy, since all boat are just "toys"
-PCM 409, I love mine! never burn more than 25 gallons a day, also has coil packs instead of the old bat wing distributor that will collect moisture eventually.

Your dealer still has to service the boat even if you don't buy it from them right? It seems like a no brainer that the 2010 (not local) is the way to go. It has more features and is a year newer.

I would leave the decision up to your local dealer. Give them the details on the 2010 you found for $64k and give them the opportunity to match it with the 2010 they have for $74k if they are similarly optioned. That way the decision is in their hands. If they get close (I would think within $1k or so) then it prob makes sense to buy from them.

Good point houston! The thing that sucks about going somewhere else is that you leave a sour taste in your local dealer's mouth and now you are put at the back of the line for warranty work (guessing) behind his customers.

That makes sense Timmy. That's why I said I would give them full disclosure. Just tell them, "I am buying a 2010 RZ2 either from another dealer for $64k or from you." That way they understand that by telling you no it means they are telling you that you should go and buy the other boat.

They may not be able to sell their boat at that price or could have had a lot of interest in it at $74k so they may decide to hold onto it.

I could see them not putting the boat first in line for service but how can they really hold a grudge when they basically told you to go buy the other boat by not matching the price. I'm sure they get paid the same on all warranty work from Tige so at that point why should it matter to them that they didn't sell the boat. At least they are making some money back on service.

I can't imagine Tige letting them get away with providing poor or slow service due to where you bought the boat.

Does the new warranty apply to 2010 boats?

Unfortunately my dealer says no. I already asked...

                                Thanks!

All...awesome responses and feedback. Thank you! Especially on the PCM 409. We have been very upfront with our dealer on budget and other boats we have been considering. We have always wanted to buy locally but simply cannot justify. Pick up is scheduled for Tuesday. I will send pictures of our new 'baby' once we have it.

If anyone needs guidance or feedback on pricing, features, etc...between a Centurion, Tige, and Nautique feel free to send me a message. This has been a 6-month ordeal for us and we are very excited about the new boat.
