    Which RZ2 should we buy?

Tige Owners...we are looking at buying an RZ2. We have a couple of choices...
    1) 2010 RZ2 (surf ballast, pcm 409, bimini, racks). Not local. $64K
    2) 2009 RZ2 (surf ballast, pcm 343, bimini, racks). Local. $64K
    3) 2009 RZ2 (ballast, pcm 343). Not local. $55K.

First off, Welcome to the site!

Do you have a local Tige dealer? If so, I would would go with the local one if the that local boat has been serviced/purchased there and you like the dealer just because they are going to be easier to work with on any warranty issues that may arise because they possibly know the boat and previous owner. Establishing a good relationship with your local dealer really makes a difference in the long term ownership of your new boat! Good luck with your decision!

Are they all three new? If not what are the hours?

Timmy...we do have a local dealer and they have been part of our process. Still struggle with paying an additional $6-8K for the 'local' component. We are worried about not buying locally but struggle to pass on a 2010 w/the Touch Screen for a 2009 without.

Will have to hold on pictures. Tige has been all over our situation and has created some conflict for us within their dealer infrastructure. Trying to manage how much 'drama' we create.

The local one is the 2010? If so, I don't think it's an issue! It's got Tige Touch? and the PCM 409?

Oh nevermind... I re-read the first post. Sorry! That does make it tougher, but if it's not too far away I'd still go for the 2010.

I have the 343, it has plenty of juice on the RZ2. I would say 2010 with 343. If you plan on loading 3000lbs in your boat and wakeboarding, get the 409. 343 will get much better gas economy, and runs smooth as silk. I have driven the 409, it has more punch, but I don't miss it at all.

If you love to surf, pro ballast is a great option, that extra weight up front is needed on the RZ2, just a thought.

Just FYI for clarification - unless it was added aftermarket, 2009 models did not have an option for the "surf" ballast. 2009 only had the 900-lb ballast available. So your 2nd and 3rd choices probably have the same ballast weight.

                            Here are my thoughts.
Your local dealer is on crack. Do not buy a 2009 for 64K when you can get it for 55K elsewhere. I would doubt that tige has boundary restrictions on non-current boats. And your dealer should understand your situation. Talk to him about this. Going out of area for the 2010 might be sticky.

Good luck and let us know what you do. Post pics of the new ride!
                            Be excellent to one another.

Don't put too much stock on the touch screen. Its a great feature, and I love it, but I would never put that over other features like ballast, engine, etc. If you have the same features like lights, ballast, speedset, but just not the touch screen, after the initial ooh and aah, you won't kick yourself that you didn't get it. Its not like a TV without the remote control, you still have all at your finger tips.
