2003 Tige 20V Throttle problem

My son was out on Sunday with the Tige. While on the river the throttle hande fell off and and he couldn't control the throttle. Now what I seen when we took off the screw and the black plstic bushing that hold the handle on is that it looks as if it is not putting enought pressure to hold the handle on all the way. Anybody else ever have this problem,Thanks for any replies.

The black button does not hold the handle on, the set screw at the bottom of the handle holds the handle on.
