    Lost gas cap

The chain snapped while I was getting gas at the dock last week and the cap fell in. Have any of you ever had to replace one? Who makes it and about how much???

Its for a 2002 and it had a flip up knob so I could twist it.

    gas cap

Does it look like this? http://www.eddiemarine.com/store/car...l&p=26090&c=23

same thing happened on our 2005 22v cap this year and we found out that Tige switched suppliers. The cap now must be bought directly from eddie marine. Eddiemarine.com

You might check w/ Lee Ramirez @ Tige in parts to know for sure if its the same one.

    good luck

Yes that is it. I heard there are a couple that look like this but with different threads. Dana marine also makes one. Just not sure which brand Tige went with. Thanks

That happened to me a few weekends ago. The local Tige dealer (not where I bought my boat...but near where i keep my boat...actually ex-Tige dealer) had a 2009 still on the floor and took a gas cap off for me and charged $50. I ordered another one from my dealer I bought my boat from to keep on hand in case this happens again. I think the price was $60. You might try your Tige dealer.

I didn't find a replacement before our next trip so I went to Home Depot's plumbing section and got a 1 1/4" PVC plug. the thread was a tad smaller but it still lasted the whole week and is still holding on strong. For $1 its a great spare to keep in case my next cap goes swimming

I'd check/change you fuel water separator after you use your next tank of gas just to make sure you run any of that moisture thru the system.
