wow Raystown is a hike - so is Deep Creek. Do you have a house out that way?

If you are from the Waynesboro I am thinking of (we swim against a team from Waynesboro), there are closer places to boat and there is also a meet up group for skiing, wakeboarding, etc local as well... Prot Indian Waterski (yahoo) group I think is the name...

I know at least one place that is closer:

The Schuykill River. It is quite wide and about a 3 to 4 mile run available. There is a ski course set up at the moment. The public no fee ramp is just north of where 202 cuts acros Ridge Ave in Norristown. Going north, you'd pass over 202 on Ridge to the next light at the top of the hill (Haws) and make a left... it will dead end at the launch site. The usable run is from the end of the island to just short of Valley Forge (the 422 bridge). It is almost always buttah. Attached is a pict.

There is also Blue Marsh (above Pottstown) and there are other places on the river to launch...

BTW... that is the most narrow section, the rest of the river is easily twice as wide.

I like my Alpha Z tower but it could be a little higher. I am 5' 11" and have lean over so i do not hit me head-wish it would've had clearance for someone average shorter then 6' 2"ish. And it can only hold 4 boards that i know of. with friends' boards, surf boards etc. i could use at least 2 more board holders on the tower.

And now the new 2011's with the alpha z are probably starting at $53,000+ so with the price of that 08' it probably is not a bad deal if you can live with the tower.

Since I just sold my 07 Tige 20V a month ago I guess I can comment on resale from recent experience.

As with any thing boats depreciate and for an 07 model year used in 08 and 09 and a little in 2010 from the base purchase price I lost about 10% when I sold it in July. If I count my add ins that I put on the boat in the time I owned it which was about $2000 to add tower Wetsounds, swap out Iroko Teak to Fiberglass, customize trailer, add some cleats and a few other items so with that stuff counted the boat and trailer depreciated 13%.

At the time I put the boat on the market NADA values were lower than they are now but all in all I sold the boat for high NADA which was good. I took a position that the price I had adjusted to in July was what it was going to sell for or I wasn't going to sell. I adjusted the price down from my original number by about $1500 and all of a sudden I was getting numerous calls and people who were very interested.

My biggest issue was educating the prospects about Tige. Tige has very little presence in the Northern Illinois, Southern Wisconsin, Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan Markets. There are no dealers in the area unless you go to St. Louis, Green Bay, Indianapolis, Northern Minnesota and I think Northern Michigan. When looking at Onlyinboards, Boattrader and Craiglist for the above markets there were no other late model Tige's for sale. It is a Market dominated by Mastercraft, Malibu, Nautiques, Centurion and Moomba. The boat was on the market for three months which had a total of three calls. In July I had well over a dozen calls, 3 people looked at in my garage and I met 6 others for test rides. Everyone who went on a ride and skied or boarded behind the boat loved it. Some complained about some issues like soft foam and loose vinyl and no grab handles. Once I could get them to listen about the Convex V concept and actually ride in it and drive it there were lot's of smiles and 6 reasonable offers. Everyone loved how it handled, its holeshot and acceleration to 30+ mph. 3 offers were below what I wanted and 3 people offered me what I wanted. To be fair I sold it to a retired gentleman out of South Bend Indiana whose family took the first test ride of the people offering what I wanted. He bought it as a family boat for his grandchildren to ride behind on a local lake were they had property. It turns out that they boat 20 miles North of where I boat in Indiana.

Believe it or not the Orange, Yellow and Frost 20V colors helped it sell. When people were going thru adds it jumped out at them. The Samson Tower also was a big plus along with the boat having key options but not the kitchen sink.

Of the three great prospects I had one person who liked the colors so much she flew in from the east coast. I had one jamoke who was a self ordained minister who ran his ministry from his house offer me $10K and wanted me to donate the rest. Nice scam. Another one offered 15K.

I looked at a lot of inboard wakeboard ski boats in the 2007 and 2008 model years and the top brands in the 20 foot range all sold new for at least 24K more and where selling used for 12-15K more than my Tige so resale wise the Tige did reasonably well.

Again in my market the key marketing issue was no name recognition for Tige even though Tige has 4 models in the top 10 inboards in 2010 and the 20V was one of them. It sold off of Craiglist were I advertised in Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana in cities that were around popular boating areas. Boattrader had 1 inquiry, only inboards had 2. I also had it on consignment at a dealer off a popular lake in Indiana and 2010 was a lousy ski boat season for them. They sold 3 or 4 inboards this season and no used ones sold which with a typical Lake home starting $600K and going well into the millions was weird. Normally the average owner was selling or trading their boats after no more than 3 years in a market owned by Mastercraft. The Tige, Supra, Moomba dealer who had Tige for a few years sold 1 or 2 in 09 and dropped the line in 2010 because the boat would not sell in that market. He sells the heck out of Moomba which rich parents are gifting to their recent college grads.

Bottom line is if Tige has a market in your area and if boats are moving Tige should sell with reasonable depreciation. When I bought mine there were 5 dealers close to where I live or boat. In 2010-none. With the product line now Tige could move a lot of boats here but no local dealers.

Nothing against the church at all, but I see/ or hear of ministers and or pastor pull that card ALL THE TIME. "donate the rest"... It annoys me.
                      Waiting for another good one!

Hey Dave - If you look for Norristown, PA on Google Earth and then zoom in, you will see the river. It is a great secret!

Blue Marsh is really crowded on the weekends and therefore can get really sloppy (in more ways than one.) The party scene is excellent, but the safety factor is the concern. If you can get there early though, you can find some good buttah.

I must drive past this all the time. I am actually staying at an extended stay hotel on business right off of the Norristwon exit 333 off the turnpike. I really need to go check out this stretch of buttah some time
