    Pics from the weekend

Great weekend here in WA state...just have to make sure you are on the lake by 0530 and in relax mode at 1030 since everyone and their dog like to go boating on the hot days here. Anyways, here are a few pics

Even in WI the water temps are from 75 to 85 right now. WA has to be as warm as us? I wish my 6yr old could ride that hard on a salomn ski. The only thing he rides is a surf board or ski skimmer.

Looks sweet to me...but I also give a little jab to the ribs for drysuiting it up in the heat of the summer.

I hope that I am still on the water like your dad is...how old is he?

The form on that little guy is awesome...eyes straight ahead, leaning against the rope, sweet.
              Be excellent to one another.

Once you drysuit you will never go back. The secret to getting younger kids out on the water is keeping them warm. These are morning shots where it is a "brisk" 62 degrees outside. Using a drysuit keeps them nice and warm when they get back in the boat. Then I just stuff them in a sleeping bag and hook up the heater to it and they are in heaven. BTW, this also works for the wife. Turns out, they hate the cold more than kids. One of the best investments you can make for cool/cold weather boating is a huge, puffy down jacket (like the kind you wear on Mt. Rainier) and some nice snowskiing pants. I generally wear the ski pants and a thin, synthetic belay jacket under the drysuit when it gets cold. I never tire of seeing the look of suprise and astonishment on peoples faces when they jump in cool or cold water with a drysuit on.

When the sun is out in the afternoon, they go out in just swimsuits, but for the morning runs they wear drysuits and are much happier.

Anyways, I can't wait until September when all the fair weather boaters get off the lake and leave the glass to me. We skied through the end of October last year and I am planning on going year round this year.

I assume since you are in the Ft Lewis area you use American Lake? I hate to tell ya that as soon as lake Tapps starts draining in September I will be switching to American lake and you will have to share the glass

Yep....it's American lake. We keep our boat in a slip there and hit it 4-6 days a week in the summer. Usually have good wAter until about 0830 on perfect weekends. Last week on one of the "cold days" we had butter from 1700 until dark and there was only one other boat on the lake. Unfortunately it has been sunny and warm all this week and the afternoon water has sucked and is been flat out dangerous to be out there. Luckily most boaters are too lazy to get up in the morning
