    New shocks & tires

I'm in the market for some new shocks for my K2500HD Duramax. Anybody with any suggestions?

I'm also going to do some new tires and I'm thinking of changing from the old BFGs to something different. Anybody?

I have a Duramax 07 classic. You may want to look at Toyo, BF Goodrich or Cooper. I believe the cooper tires have a 50000 mile warranty. I have TOYO right now. Everyone I talked to recently says how well the Goodrich tires hold up. Some folks are getting 70000 miles on a set. Just for your info I run 285's and they fit with no problems.

How about the Rancho adjustable 9000XL?

You can add the My Ride to adjust them from inside the truck.

I figure with 104,000 miles I'm due for some shocks.

My BFGs work great but, I can't seem to get more than a year out of them. I might just go back to the Pirelli Scorpions even though they don't work nearly as well as the BFGs in the snow.

I'm already running air bags in the rear suspension.

I run 275x65x16 for tires. The Tire Rack distribution hub is just outside of town and I just go pick them up and have them mounted locally. It lets me spend a little more on good tires.

They did. In fact, the whole truck has. It has had a few minor electrical issues but, other than that it's been the best truck I've ever owned.

I feel ya on the Made in the USA tip but, I don't hear to many good things about those. I'm pretty hard on tires. They see quite a bit of abuse with 4 full seasons and always something to do, from boating to camping to snowboarding to offroading to hiking to grocery gunning, it sees the road almost every day and our roads get thrashed from 3ft of snow to 100+ every six months. I need some F'n Super Tires.

I'm running Nitto Terra Grappler's, 285/75 on my 07.5 Duramax and so far so good. They work great in the sand. I had the Toyo Open Country AT's on my last truck and got 50k+ out of them no problem.

For shocks, I was planning on going to these:

I plan to install the 9000XL's in the rear and Rancho Quicklifts up front.

FYI - there's a $100 rebate on 4 Rancho's through the end of the month. I like the looks of these Mickey Thompson tires....pricey, but supposed to have a long tread life.

I have some Goodyear off-road tires that are kevlar belted. They are quieter than normal Wranglers, but not as quiet as the BFGs. They have lasted over 40K and I'll probably get another 20K or more out of them.

I had some Toyo Open Country AT's on my last truck and loved them.
