Are you sure on the tire size? I get nothing in a search for that size.

Bilstein makes a great shock for the money. Good long life and excellent performance for all of the uses you described.

Im running nitto terra grapplers on my truck even though its a half ton but its on 35's. Now that im due for some new tires ive been looking around and it seems like most people like the nitto terra grapplers and the Bfg all-terrains the best. Most of the people I seemed to ask, and the people at 4wheel parts etc seemed to side with the bfg tires saying that they last a really long time. Im going with the bfgs because they get good mileage, no noise, good on hard pact offroading, and good in the snow.

How many miles do you drive a year? if their not lasting that long could it be possible something on your truck is worn out causing your tires to wear out faster??? Also how big of tires are they?

            I second Bilstein shocks.

As for tires, I have used Cooper Zeon LTZ in the past and had great success with them. Got over 50,000 on them and that is on a 8500lb Excursion. Now I am running the Nitto Duragrapplers since I do 99.99% pavement driving.

Did you notice a fuel mileage improvement with those?

Not sure. Having the 44 gallon tank there are so many variables per tank, i.e. how many times did I tow to the lake on that tank. But if I had to make a guess, I would say maybe a little but nothing more than 1/2 MPG.

I can say they ride super smooth and tire noise is a lot less.

Kind of tough when you have that big of a tank. Thanks for the feedback!

                        I buy Michelin tires.

I have the Latitude Tour on my 4WD Sequoia. They're great. A little more street tire than off-road, but are rated M/S. 65K mile warranty.

I have the LTX M/S 2 on my Tundra 2WD. A little more aggressive tread design, M/S rated with a 70K mile warranty.

I have the LTX A/T 2 on our 4Runner 4WD. The most aggressive tread design for off-road. No mileage warranty.

I third the Bilstein shocks. I also have Toyo MT's.

I got the 5100series Bilstein shocks on my truck when I put on the mild lift and 35's and wow what an improvment over the stock shocks, granted I'm running a Ford I would imagine they'll make a huge difference on your GM also...

                          Waiting for another good one!

It has always been a tire eater. It was in a major accident and was the only vehicle of four to not be totaled. The factory tollerance is 13mm out of square (if you will). When it was put back together, they got it within 3mm of perfect. The thing drives straight as an arrow. You can take your hands off the wheel, mash the brakes and it will not deviate from it's path. I'm hoping the shocks will help out.

I'm thinking of trying some Michelins this time. It almost sucks that the BFGs work so damn well in the elements around here. I'd rock 'em again but, they're just too soft.

I think you need another Toyota dude.

Nice truck, even if it is a FERD.

Just a follow up here. I ended up with the Michelin LTX A/T 2 and the Bilstein 5100's. The shocks made a huge difference. I've never had shocks make much of a difference on any vehicle but, these are really nice. The tires, so far, have been equally impressive. I've yet to have them off-road or in deep snow, but I think both will happen next weekend with our annual Christmas Tree Hunt. I've had them in some decent rain and mild snow and they performed excellent.
