    2006 - 22VE

Hey guys, I'm new to the site and need a little advise. I am considering buying a used (1 owner) 2006 22 VE. I have recently learned that 06 was a bad year for skins or appolstery, but didn't know if you guys had any other advise.
The boat is a one owner (300 hours),equipped with the following:
    perfect pass
    factory balast
    powder coated tower
sound system - no tower speakers
    heater - three outlet
    Bimini
    teak platform
You get the idea! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Just looking for the experts thoughts and Guapo told me this is where it's at!
    Thanks

At 275, our seats looked fine. The vinyl was hard to get cleaned till we found a system that worked, but no issues with the seams or vinyl itself.

perfect pass: probably the Tige Accu-Set, or may have been upgraded to the 07 Speed-Set if the touch-pad had failed at some point.
factory ballast: effective for the average wakeboarder, but for surfing, it will need to be supplemented.
powder coated tower: not the factory tower
sound system - no tower speakers: easy to add, tons of options
    heater - three outlet
Bimini: not factory, so cant comment.
    teak platform

IMO, if the boat was taken care of and the price is right, then go for it.

2006 might be Tige's best year yet! (I may be a little biased) I'd say throw some wet sounds on the tower and FAE on and you'd be set.

My 2005 tower was powder coated...the e tower came out in 2006, right? So maybe he is talking about the uprights that always chipped the powder coating?
        Be excellent to one another.

Well, i'll be damned! The pic in the add shows the Tige Wakeboard Pro PP, but that engine in the 06 should have been a TBW and PP didnt have a TBW system then I wonder if it's an early 06 and has an 05 MP with throttle cable.

Thanks for the quick responces - The boat is in great shape from the pictures but I haven't had a chance to see it person yet. Hopefully this weekend!
The perfect pass has not been upgraded. - I haven't had much experience with this addition. Is it difficult to use?
What would you think is a fair price?

The boat was originally bought from the dealer I am talking to and he told me they had the tower powder coated as an extra. The only reason I know is because I made the statement that a silver tower would look better and the dealer said that the owner paid extra to have it powder coated black

My conclusion was based on the pic in the add, not the fact that it was powder-coated. But yes, the believe the official "E" did come out in 06, but 04 may have been the first year of the original rendition of the "E". I know the 05's had it as I helped swap out CP3's bent one. And they were powdered silver.

The tower Tige rolled out on the 06 Ve boats was called the "E" series, but the 05 and maybe the 04's, had a similar tower design, just not sure it had and actual name then. That boat in the add does not have a Tige tower, I'm pretty sure. Not that that's a bad thing, just cant comment on it.

From my experience with a 2006 24Ve and a 2007 RZ2 with both uprights being powdercoated, if Tige did the powdercoating, it will not last. It will chip and IMO was a totally horrible job. However, you could have it removed if it doesn't work for you.

Dom at Forte's would definitely know but I thought Tige was switching engines during the 2005/2006 year. Not sure what the prior year engine was but Marine Power is what they had before the engines that they are currently using.

That definitely looks like the E tower but those uprights are definitely not the original E tower uprights. Did the original owner damage them or have them rebuilt?

Ok thanks- I'll ask him in the morning if it's a factory tower. From what they are telling me, it's at least the original tower.
What about surfing? The past couple years I have been behind an 09 RZ2. How will this boats wake compare. I understand that the factory ballast will need to be added too but are there any other concerns?
                            Thanks again

Well, i'll bet 100 hard earned posts that it's not factory

Look at it from a different angle and the flow of the lines is all different.
