Do all Tiges come with carpet and a sound system?

Must you have these things? Do they all come with them from the factory?

As mentioned in other threads, we're considering changing boats and looking at Tige, among other brands. We never use the sound system that is on our current boat, and prefer not to have carpet since it makes things so much easier to clean and dry out. We use HydroTurf in selected spots to avoid slipping (a marine closed cell foam that works incredibly well) but otherwise just prefer the fiberglass deck.

I'm not usually in the market for a new boat, but now I'm wondering if the savings of eliminating the sound system, carpet, etc. would bring a new boat's price within range. A future buyer of my then-used boat could always add that stuff if they wanted it, so it's not a permanent decision.

    Thanks!

The boat can be ordered without a sound system. Dont know if the snap-out carpet can be left off, but I would order it any way and just store it a way. When the time comes to sell, having the carpet will be a huge plus

How is the carpet installed? Do they use snaps, or velcro, or glue, or ??? I wouldn't want "stuff" on the floor to stub toes, scrape feet, etc. Having the carpet and letting the next owner install it is fine with me (good idea, BTW) but I'd want it clean while *I* owned it.

      Thanks!

Up through 2009, the main cabin carpet was glued down, except for the bow walkway, which was snap-in.

Starting with the 2010 boats, Tige uses snaps throughout.

I would imagine you could order one without the snaps though (and no carpet)...just a thought.

The basic sounds system is about 800-900 bucks and snap in carpet is probably less than that. My WAG is you might save 1500 if you ordered it without those items. Even though I don't care about the stereo as much as others, I'm glad I have it and I wouldn't buy a boat without one.

If they use snaps, that's exactly what I'd do. You can always install snaps/velcro/glue/whatever later.

I guess I need to talk to Tige and see how much "no carpet" and "no sound system" would slash off of the price. I'd much rather have that money in an engine upgrade.

Don't forget to consider resale. Those things may not be important to you, but they are to the majority of boat buyers/owners. It could hurt resale and/or narrow your pool of potential buyers in the future.

                    What kind of engine upgrade?

What's an R20? Someone else brought it up but I don't see it on Tige's website and a Google search for "Tige R20" doesn't bring up anything either.

That's because it not officially released yet but should be hopefully within the next few weeks.
