Lake of the Ozarks this weekend 8/12-17

Sorry, couldn't find the "Roadtrip" forum (but I think it would be a good one to add, for us road warriors looking to meet up and get the local scoop).

We're headed to Lake of the Ozarks on Thursday night - we'll be on the water until Monday and checking out Performance Marine Watersports service on Tuesday (formerly Skiers Wharf Extreme). We are staying at a friends place in Old Kinderhook/Camdenton - which I believe is at Mile Marker 12 of Big Niangua. This will be our first time on the water at LOZ, so just looking for any advice. We have to go at sunrise on our regular lake for good butter, so we're assuming that we'll need to do that at LOZ as well.

If any LOZ Tige owners want to meet up, let me know - we'll be all over the place. Is it faster to tow to different ramps to try out different areas versus traveling by water?

Anyone have any experience with Performance Marine Watersports? They are putting replacement graphics on for us and doing our 150 hour service/oil change.

Is it the same owner (Joe) as was at SWE?
Being a major OU fan and a staunch conservative.... I am perpetually vexed w/ the conundrum of who to hate more. Obama or the Univ. of Saxet.

It is the same owner, Joe Norton. Don't know what happened to SWE but all of a sudden Mastercraft and Nautique is being sold by other dealers at LOZ. Joe still has Tige.

We'll be down at the 41MM of the Osage this weekend. You should have good water early from about 6am till around 9 or so. Be careful way up the Niangua, it does get a little shallow in places. If you feel like taking a long ride come to Alcorn Hollow cove on the south side of the channel at the 41mm. You would have to go 12 miles to the mouth of the Niangua and then up the Osage for another 10 miles. I wouldn't go down the Osage very far, you'll get beat up in your boat!

My email addy is akteamdoc@gmail.com if you have questions or want to try and meet up!

If you want to find a good boarding spot go down the little Niangua a few miles ... not to far because yes it will get shallow but you should be good from the start of little niangua for about 5 miles or so ... I don't know the mile markers well but its after 5 miles where it gets shallow.. but its the best area to find some good flat water

            Just an update:

We had a great trip, lots of fun, and as suspected, butter is hard to find on the weekends. We did have luck at sunrise, and a bit before sunset. We did get a great chunk of riding in on Monday on the Niangua - sunrise till about noon we only had slight traffic to deal with as it got later. We spent most of our boarding time near the Hwy 54 Bridge.

Big recommendation for Performance Marine Watersports and Joe Norton. By far the best Customer Service I've had at a dealer (I've been to 3 different Tige Dealers this year, and numerous other shops). Really good staff and pro shop.

Glad to hear Joe and the gang are still at it. I bought my boat from him 5 years ago and he worked very hard to make it a good experience. Since then I have had a bit of trouble getting anyone to answer the phones, but they have always been like that.
If it weren't so far away for me, I would bring my boat in to them for service every time.

Glad to hear you enjoyed LOTO, it is still my favorite lake and we will eventually have a home there. It's awesome. Not for the faint of heart on the weekends though.
